Xotic PC, Bank of America, and the wire transfer.

So, one of my favorite stories to tell people lately is what occurred when I went to make a wire transfer to Xotic PC through BoA. The following story is true, the names have NOT been changed to protect the ignorant.

So BoA was having problems with online wire transfers that required me to go into the branch. Since 3% on a few thousand is quite a savings, of course I decided to go through the hassle of making a wire transfer in a branch.

So I arrive at the BoA in City of Industry, CA and speak with a Natalie. She is all nice and hands me a form to fill out to put in all the information and the amount, then tells me to see her when I'm done. So I take my time filling out all the information and then go back to her and hand her the paper. She starts entering it into the system and instantly starts scowling at me while typing. I'm thinking 'uh, I wasn't staring anywhere I shouldn't of, so whats up...'. So her tone gets sharper and sharper as she is asking me questions to verify the information. Then finally she blurts out...

her - "I hope it's the best you have ever had for that kind of money."
    me - "Excuse me?"
her - "I find the whole concept of paid to be appalling"
me - "whoa what are you talking about?"
her - "Doesn't PC stand for Personal Companion? What else could it be?"

At this point I bust out laughing and get the attention of the people around us. I couldn't resist...

me - "Actually they had a Asian special running this month, three girls of your choice with a complimentary school girl outfit upgrade."

She was obviously stunned at what I just said (unfortunately I wasn't able to say it with a straight face), but then I explained that it's a boutique computer reseller. I swear I have never seen a person turn so many shades of red in my life. She appologized profusely, finished the paperwork, said thanks, then literally ran into the back room.

So the next time you make a wire transfer in a BoA, for the reason, put 3 Asian special. ;)

P.S. Props to XoticPC and Brett who has been great throughout the process of dealing with backorders, BoA wire transfers, and my annoying emails. Still don't have the lappy yet and it's almost a month (damn backordered screen), but when I get it I'm sure it'll be perfect.

That is one of the funniest stories I have heard in awhile. People's ignorance is crazy isn't? That would be hilarious if another person heard about this and went there and mentioned the 3 Asian special :)

She *could* have been rather deprived, and was annoyed that he could possibly have been buying a personal companion... when she couldn't get a man/would have done it for free.

    One scenario =P

She was Thai with a very noticeable accent, so I could assume that she was born there. Thailand is very infamous for forcing young girls into the trade, and is a sensitive subject for them. This is my thought for how it came up.

    New T-shirt:

" I ordered from Xotic PC and all I got was a stupid laptop."

LOL. This story is full of win. Awesome.

But (and there's always a big butt), I find it strange how a teller would actually care to make it personal. But good for us to get a good laugh.

I thought this post was going to be a flame/rage thread, I was so wrong. I also did a wire transfer to xotic pc but it didn't have the same results like this one.

LOL :) Unfortunately not the first time we have heard it.

Maybe we need to have a different delivery service set up instead of UPS? :p

You need to let people use things other than Bank Wire Transfers to get that 3% discount is what... like a credit card... ;)
