Hey guys I've been considering the 8660 and was wondering if anyone has gotten their laptop painted by Xotic. Is it worth the price? Is it high quality?

The custom paint jobs are amazing from people that have shown us theirs through XoticPC.

The paint job itself... has its own warranty. :)

So if the paint gets chipped or scratched (unlikely though because they do what you would do with painting cars, layers of clear paint over the job), its covered.

Check out their finished jobs at the site... as well as some here in this forum :)

I'll say get the laptop first, you can always paint it later if you don't like how it looks.

alright guys i have the same problem but if you want to know my opinion, i'd get the skinning feature... it saves you about 170 bucks (or 370 bucks), and you get a great look. plus if you want to know how it looks, check out this vid:

laptopdesignusa does the paintjobs for xoticpc (don't harass me cause i'm not positive about it). there's this awesome chroming feature they show at 2:10 if you're gonna get the paint job, get that (+69 bucks i believe)

the paint job quality is completely up to you, you can choose what paint type to use, they have the whole complete set. the really expensive stuff would be like bugatti veyron paint designs :D

i mean, i haven't heard of a lot of people who choose the painting or skinning option, maybe they don't feel like they'll like it after a year who knows, but i am getting my np9262 early august when the 9800m gtx is available and i'm gettin it skinned, ill tell you in august

The painting throws the delivery time off by as much as a month and a half.
I talked with a rep last night because I wanted a custom paint job.
It just isn't worth the extra wait time for me.

it will be easy if you live 25000 miles away from US, considering circumference of earth is 25000 miles.
