I ordered on the 7th, payment was received on the 15th, and still no shippment. I called sales support, and they could only say "later this week."

    Bullcrap.

Yeah, I had to wait over a month. Most people did. It's not Xotic's fault.

It's not just the 2090 models it's a widespread thing atm. With notebook delays. You should ask what they have in stock before ordering.

When I ordered they XoticPC assured me it would be here before the 25th. Justin then told me it would ship late last week or the first of this week. I ask again and told that it won't ship till late next week.

I can live with delays. What I cannot live with is being assured that my notebook will ship by a certain date and then having that date changed.

If it's going to be delayed tell me that. Don't assure me that it's going to arrive if it's not.

I agree its pretty uncool, the same thing happened to me. I ordered on August 1st and payment was taken from my credit card a couple days later. Nearly 3 weeks later it still hasnt shipped, and I'll I've gotten is "it is expected to ship this week" about 3 times and it never has. They never informed me of a delay. If there was a delay it would be nice to know so I could evaluate my options, but they havent informed me of anything and just keep stringing me along.

I ordered July 25th, confirmed 26th, heard that they were coming in on August 20th, but mine shipped August 15th and arrived August 16th.

Very pleased with my experience with Xotic.

xoticpc cannot make the shipments arrive any quicker...so you are taking it out with the wrong company. if you didnt know there was a long wait, then you havent been checking NBR very often, that isnt their fault...they are keeping everyone informed by having justin post periodically.

i had a great experience with xoticpc, and what you are complaining about is something out of their hands..

We're seeing shortages industry wide right now, and it certainly is not helping anyone.

The problem is that companies like Xotic and friends might order X number of parts and/or laptops, and instead get delayed or less than they ordered when they do indeed ship. It would be nice if everyone knew when it would really ship, but the heart of the matter is that most vendors know just about as little as you do regarding the true ship date.

Good luck with the wait though!

All shipping complaints should go straight to Justin@XoticPC. He's the owner of the company and a member of this board.

It's part of why pricing on PC's through these folks is such good value --- they don't necessarily carry inventory - which means they are vulnerable to issues or disruptions in the supply chain.

You guys have it so good --- the cost of doing business with a bunch of kids who are scrambling around trying to save pennies and then have the patience of a two year old at the dinner table is beyond my ability to stomach. It takes a special kind of saint to deal with that stuff -- you should count your lucky stars that there are any reputable online PC vendors willing to do an honest business with you.

And it doesn't take much effort to find out that there are supply issues upstream before posting here - so bad form. Maybe next time you should just go to Best Buy. Sounds like your kind of store.

@Dogsoverlave & Mongoose: try a bit harder to understand some of these people, instead of judging them right away. while TS could have known about the delays, there are those who orderedway earlier. Even before there were delivery problems. I ordered July 17th (not at Xotic), and was told there were delays, but they hoped to ship end of August. But, if I had ordered end of June, I would have been told it would ship mid July (because that was the time those thingies were supposed to be shipped). If then, I get delayed till end of August, I wouldn't be all that happy. Would you?

I don't think the issue is that people are getting mad at the delays, I think it's more of a problem that they're directing their anger at the reseller and giving the impression that the resellers are purposefully wronging them, which most of us know is incorrect, not to mention pretty insulting to the resellers themselves. Mostly I think there's just a lot of frustration, and people tend to say angry things in angry tones that come off as a lot whinier and malignant than intended.

Even to those people who were told certain dates and then had them pushed back, I would remind them that it's important to realize that at the time when you were told that information, it was, as far as they could confirm, the truth. Unexpected delays and such higher up in the supply chain are completely out of their hands, and they were trying to do you a favor by giving you an accurate (at the time) estimate. While it might feel like you were lied to, that simply isn't the case, and the blame should be placed somewhere else.

If you have to whine, whine, but don't go accusing the wrong people for the situation you (we) are in.

Edit: and if it adds any perspective, I ordered my 2090 around a month ago, with full knowledge that a delay should be expected, and the intention of taking any estimated arrival date with a grain of salt.

Although I did finally get my tracking number yesterday after a delay, that piece in bold stuck out for my particular laptop. This part I've highlighted in bold is telling me alot of delays have been due to the supply of whatever item customers are trying to purchase. However, my laptop was custom painted, and I was told that my laptop was done and that the laptop looked great. And yet, my shipping was still delayed four times in a two week time span.

Now I'm not holding a grudge since the company I purchased mine from was kind enough to try and inform me of the status of my order if I requested it (and I did several times), but I can't see how a shortage of supply would cause me such a delay if the laptop was already completed.

Done as in the paint job is done? Or done as in the laptop is usable and ready to ship out with everything you ordered in it but well just sit on it a few weeks before shipping?

From my understanding, the first two delays were for testing, the other two delays, the laptop was done and ready to ship out.

It took a while for me to get my 9260 a few weeks back because of the testing phase as well. But I'm not complaining about it because if they didn't test, they wouldn't have realized that a bad batch of ram had made it into my laptop. I'd rather have it be delayed then force me to ship it back because the ram was defective.

I have nothing but positive things to say of xotic

My gripe is the communication part. If I hadn't known about this forum I never would have known about the delays when I ordered. I was told numerous times that it would arrive by a certain date, even though they knew it may not.

It's also difficult when I have to send three different emails because for some reason people are incapable of answering more than one question in an email.

Receiving two different emails within an hour's span both contradicting the other does not help either. It also shows poor communication skills with the customer.

while it is true that yes, they should be telling us about known delays (althaugh they post in forums) keep in mind they have hundreds (i think...) of customers' emails to deal with everyday, AND the organization of the laptops to make, and they probably cant go into too big of emails...

i dont know this is just my opinion, might not be true at all, but seems relevent.

And im not flaming you im just QFT, have a good one.

There is a shortage of parts for all manufacturers. My company is replacing PC's and graphics cards are hard to get now. I also read it's hitting all laptop companies.

    i strongly disagree with you!
1: the bigger the company, the more likely they have a seperate staff for building the laptops and for sales/support/communication
2: even if they don't, those companies exist because of their customers, hence they should give top priority to answering emails/phone calls

Ordered a 5790 originally and switched to a 9260, there was a shortage of 7950gtx for the 5790, after a switched i received my laptop extremely fast! Was very happy with xoticpc personally.
