yo, looking over the Xoticpc web, they have awesome deals, but looking at what I wanted on my MP5165, I am having trouble on deciding who to buy it from

Off of Sagers site, I get the whole deal for $1309.00 USD but I could not upgrade to the THX audiophile sound card and the laptop came with windows.

Off of Xotic I got the up graded THX SC, but the windows OS and Office programs were separate(could always use google docs/prezzi w.e)...totaling more $$ than the sager site

I supposed the question now goes to is it worth it for the card, or better yet, how GOOD is the standard built in card on the NP5165

Always go with the resellers, their customer support and attention is much better than Sager's. There are many different resellers and you can compare prices yourself: xotic, powernotebooks, Malibal are just some of wich you can check out

    thanks bro

EDIT: is the built in soundcard still good? or will upgrading it make a difference? I had some experience were updating soundcards really didnt change things that were already on the standard one

go for the standard one. The upgraded one requires you to plug it into the notebook and unless your looking for a tiny edge over the standard by carrying the adapter around don't get it. Again I guess its your preference though I always use headsets or earbuds.

oh wow its and adapter? 0.o, ya I also use headphones, but i use audiophile ones. Thought it would be cool to get an audiophile card to use with the audiophile headphones.

If (and only if) you have high-end headphones, a better investment would be a digital-to-analog converter such as this one. It will provide superior sound output when compared to built-in or other external sound devices. But again, the difference is only noticeable if you're using top-line listening gear.

The Office Software and Windows are the same price by most resellers and Sager. Sager provides a OS Standard where most resellers do not. If I can help with anything please don't hesitate to ask! :)

thanks a lot for the input, I will most likely buy from xotic, to be totally honest, google doc and prezi should do the job in any presentation

I have heard good customer reviews of xotic :)

Xotic was great, for me I had absolutely no problems. I can't speak for the other resellers though there are many good ones.

Yes but from what I have heard, I would pay the extra money rather than deal with Sager's customer service. It is probably a real headache if anything goes wrong.
