    Hello everyone,

First post here. Been looking for some gaming laptops (although not getting one until several months), and want to ask a question here. Anyway, I was looking over at XoticPC's laptops, especially the sager ones really caught me in the eye. Especially the carbon fiber wrap looks great. I was wondering, do those carbon fiber wraps interfere from opening up the laptop, in case if you want to upgrade a component? Is there some sort of warranty restrictions on laptops that are made of carbon fiber wraps? Thank you.

No limitation from opening it up. We tuck it under each panel individually so it'd be just like you'd normally experience. The wrap is just that, a wrap, doesn't alter the chassis used in any way and doesn't replace any of the panels with anything else. Just a vinyl wrap that gets custom fitted to the existing chassis. No change to warranty.

Thanks for the reply. Do they cut holes for ventilation holes on the laptop as well?

It will cover the A/B/C surfaces, but not the bottom or sides. The surfaces covered do not have any vents on them.

"Just a vinyl wrap that gets custom fitted to the existing chassis."

So it's not carbon fiber, just vinyl?

That is correct. We won't be able to rebuild the chassis out of actual carbon fiber, I wish we could, but we can't. It's a vinyl wrap that looks and simulates the feel of carbon fiber.

Hey Derek, I have a related question. Is there anyway I could have a computer wrapped in carbon fiber that is not sold by XoticPC?

Unfortunately not, the wraps typically involved a complete disassembly when we do them and that introduces a lot of risk as far as liability goes. If it's sold by us we can do so no problem as we know that the machine was in good condition when sold and can document any changes that we come across. Can't do so with a machine not originally sold by us. As a result, policy is to say no. Just not worth the risk for the business.
