After several weeks of research on this site I decided to buy a NP8662 from xoticPC with a credit card then mail them a check (in order to get the cash discount). I ordered the evening of July 8th and I'm starting to get a little nervous. I have a deadline of July 31 for it to get here and I'm still in phase 2. I've called it looks like they haven't recieved my check yet which I mailed in the early morning of the 15th. With this being said I've got a few questions. First, has anyone had a similar problem with payment? Second, how much longer after the check is recieved do I have to wait for it to be shipped? And finally, how long has your shipping time been?

My dealings with them have been very cordial but I haven't been put at ease that my order will arrive by my deadline. Any stories or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

You should contact with Xoticpc directly about this?

Ordered mine on 6-23 with a credit card, they held the order because they wanted to know if I really wanted two 8662s or just hit the BUY twice by accident.

    Spoke to them on 6-24.

    Received them on 6-29.

Status went from Phase 2 to Phase 4 all at once.

I expect you're fine, but I am surprised its taken the postal service 5 days to get them the check

That last doesn't surprise me; for some reason, Murphy long ago decided that the USPS made the perfect testing bed for his law - junk mail and adverts will get delivered overnight, seemingly, but that check you wrote using the last check in your checkbook in order to pay off your widowed granny's rent before the villainous, moustache-twisting landlord evicted her into the snowy streets during the worst cold-snap in one hundred years - you'll be lucky if it gets there before December 31, 2099. :D

I wouldn't worry about it. Just be patient. I ordered mine on July 1st. Paid 75% of the laptop via Pay Pal and 25% Credit Card.

Got to Phase 2 a few days later and Phase 4 a week after.

    Picked UPS Ground Shipping.

My lappy arrives tomorrow. Can't wait.

Had a very nice conversation with several Justins yesterday (yeah thats right, its not one super human guy, there are several). They had recieved my check yesterday afternoon, however there was a problem with my credit card not authorizing the purchase. Got on the phone with them and realized they didn't authorize it because of security concerns. I immediately cleared the purchase and actually thanked them for being dilligant and looking out for me. Xotic is going to try to reauthorize the card this morning and I'm hoping it will ship in the next day or so. Right now its looking like things are going to work out and everybody has been patient and very nice through the process. I'm hoping to have the laptop in my hands in less then a week. If things go well I can see using them in a business aspect as well (I'm going to see how they compare to the big boys in terms of shipping times, expense and customer service). I'll let you all know when it arrives!

I've always heard good stuff about xoticpc, i didnt purchase with them because the didn't offer the 1333 ram for the Sager 8662, i know i have to overclock the motherboard but you have to take risks, right?

Just so people who look up threads about xotic see this, I called and got things settled. There was a problem with my CC not authorizing the purchase which was quickly cleared up. Still on phase 2 for some reason but I talked to Justin yesterday who told me it should be shipped out between 24 and 48 hours. I'll keep posting updates and will be writing a review once I get the system.
