I have been comparing prices between buying from XoticPC and directly from Sager itself and its the exact same price as far as I can tell. What I am wondering is there much of a difference in the build quality or ship time if you get it from the resellers? Also does anyone know if any of the resellers or Sager itself would be willing to send the laptop to a PMB (personal mail box) on a military base?

Build quality should be identical because Sager builds it regardless of your reseller. However, some options, such as skinning and overclocking, are performed by your reseller. The only way ship time would differ if if you wanted to avoid paying sales tax and had the laptop shipped to the reseller and then to you.

The key difference between Sager and a reseller is that the resellers have MUCH better customer service records. If you find a problem with your laptop, you would probably be glad you purchased through a reputable reseller.

I would discuss the delivery situation directly with a reseller.

Edit: Just re-read this post. Can't believe how many times I wrote "reseller" lol.

You'll be much gladder to buy a laptop from a reseller than directly from Sager. Resellers like Xotic, Malibal, Mythologic, etc. have much better customer service than Sager, and will be glad to assist you with any qualms or issues that you may have. When I was purchasing from Malibal, for example, I asked a number of questions regarding what components I should buy from, and within minutes of each ticket being submitted they responded.

Also, you might get a discount by purchasing from a reseller; Xotic offers free shipping plus a $50 discount from making five posts on here, Malibal offers a $50 discount off machines over $1500 plus $50 off from making five posts on their forums (currently down), and so on and so forth. My machine was lowered in cost by $100 thanks to those benefits.

I agree, except with your calling Mythlogic and Malibal "resellers." Xotic is a reseller. Mythlogic and Malibal are builders. Personally, I like ordering from the builders better as I don't trust Sager's build quality as much. While Xotic's customer service is great, there's only so much they can do, especially when often times they never see the notebook they've sold to you.

Shipping to a Military base can be a problem depending on where its located. If its outside of the states (APO/FPO) it does have to ship via USPS and they no longer will ship any lithium batteries outside of the continental states. If its within the states then you wont run into that problem. If you're outside of the states we do have a solution that works well. Ask your reseller about the options to do so.

My shipping address is within the United States, we are given PMBs and postal workers make sure that packages meant for you only go to you (they check ID). I tried contacting XoticPC via email over the weekend but no response yet. I was interested in buying from them because of their BBB rating and what other information I have read on other forums.

Sounds like shipping will be fine then. We are out of the office on the weekends but do check emails frequently, you should be getting a reply to your question shortly.

I would think you could ship the laptop without the battery and then have somebody send another package with "book" in it. :)

Powernotebooks is a really good reseller to check out also. I've had a good experience with them.

I've had great experiences with both XoticPC and PNB. I'd highly recommend going with either of them!
