Hi guys!First of all, I'd like to say that this is the PERFECT machine for me! It's more than what I had expected... sure I knew the calibre of the GPU and 3DMark06 scores, etc etc. But having your first laptop before you after almost three months of looking around for one, and then suddenly going from seeing it in pictures to seeing it in person, is quite an exquisite feeling!
![]()
My birthday was on 7th Feb, my 18th birthday, and I was promised a (gaming) laptop also for college use! There began the journeyBy March I was convinced this laptop was the one for me.... ideal in configuration, and ideal in price!
Not that it looked bad either
Hell, it just looks HAWT!!
![]()
This isn't much of a "Review" as such since this already popular notebook has been reviewed several times, especially the ever-popular review by Chaz.![]()
This is just more like a picture gallery with all the pictures I took of it, and it's box![]()
I apologize for the low quality pictures, but I was SOOOO excited to have UPS delivery the package that I couldn't bother getting the camera, and hence just used my simple 3.2 MP phone cam!
One thing I'd like to mention to all those reading - The pictures DO NOT do justice to the laptop! I was told myself that the notebook looks better in person, and I couldn't be more convinced when I actually unboxed it myself....
It so happens that no matter how many pics of it I see on the net today, or take of it myself, it just simply CANNOT mimic the vibe this laptop gives me when I look at it in person!
So here we go.... finally, the pictures!!![]()

Side view at work desk.
Laptop as used and existent today, front view, with Chaz's HOT WUXGA wallpaper
I'd like to mention that XoticPC was fantastic with all the help, as were both Justin Nolte and Justin WoitteTheir support was outstanding, and the price for this laptop was great too!
My configuration of this unit is as follows.
This laptop was a BIG adventure for me, and finally it's arrived (4 days back) but I couldn't post this before, since Crysis and WiC were quite the drugs! Not to mention how well this laptop ran them
![]()
I would more than advise anyone to buy through XoticPC as you can see, I couldn't be happier with this unit. If it's customer satisfaction you want, it's satisfaction you're gonna get! Especially for Americans, to whom, shipping wouldn't be a problem and it's costs... not to mention the great warranty!
Also, I'd like to mention that I didn't find the laptop fans loud at all! Not even on full blast! I infact find it pleasant, and run it on full blast while connected to a power source, most of the time, since I was always used to my noisy desktops!![]()
My 3DMark06 score is ~9200 on Windows Vista x64 SP1.
This laptop was well worth EVERY FREAKIN' BUCK! And "bang for buck" is just an understatement IMO! For anyone thinking of getting a gaming laptop around this budget, DO NOT HESITATE!It's not heavy as much as I had expected... seeing as to how thick it is at the back! And as stated, it DOES indeed look MUCH better in person!
UPDATE!!! NEW PICTURES :
Back view.
Bottom view.
Bottom view, "EXTREME EDITION".... Yeaahhhh baby !!![]()
New matching black/orange coloured backpack!
Laptop on new bag.
Once again, I apologize for this "review" that was done in a rush... since I am about to leave on vacation, and was unable to sum up anything better, any quicker![]()
The Sager NP5793 has indeed given me a grand exquisite red-carpet welcome to the world of high-end mobile gaming!![]()

hey nice prasad. you sound very excited which is very good. was this done on the new lappy? I'm glad you made the right choice. Good luck.
-
how much faster is the 2.5Ghz than 2.4Ghz? does it really worth extra hundred bucks?
-
It`s not just the 100 Mhz difference. It`s double the L2 cache also.
Nirvana,I`ve polluted too many threads, who`s the chick in your avatar ? -
i like pictures.
maybe you can do some thumbnails and link them to full size pics for those that dont have WUXGA. -
yeah resize those pics, waaaay too big!
-
Good pictorial haha. I feel for ya, I'm also anxiously waiting for my m15x! All I'm doing now is looking at pics.

wicked review pres I suppose we had it coming after that wait for you to get you notebook
-
This is my last reply for a while.... and my last login. I'll be back soon, but if I get the chance to get online, I'll edit the OP to thumbnails!
-
last login, ur leaving NBR?
-
No, going on vacation to Dubai!
For a week
Will try getting online if possible
-
Oh, Ok.
nice review
-
Thanks!
I intended to add a lot more... but was in the rush of packing
I had also planned an unboxing video.... but after all that waiting I just wanted to rip the packaging apart and get to Crysis already !!!
-
nice one, i would recommend shrinking your images though, even on a 1920x1200 res screen, horizontal scrolling is horrible.
-
Yeah.... I'll set them to thumbnails first chance I get
-
Congratz Prasad, very happy for ya!!
-
Damn, not only are the pics way too big, but sooooo blurry. Macro mode please.
-
how is the 3MB L2 cache vs. 6MB?
-
what hdd did you get in the 320gb size?? im shopping for a bigger drive and im torn between the new wd and the samsung spinpoint.. i have always loved wd drives but the new wd one seems to run really hot and they say it sucks up a lot of power compared to the sammy.. just never been a sammy fan and the wd beats the sammy in all but one test according to tomshardware
-
NICE!! glad to see you got it man! That orange though is some fugly stuff!LOL
-
congrats Pras, great lappy, there's nothing like opening new toys!
btw everyone, is it worth getting the 7200rpm or save the cash
and get a 5400rpm drive? In a desktop, it makes a decent enough
difference, that I know. -
auburncoast Notebook Deity NBR Reviewer
depends on your needs. I do music so 7200rpm is a must but if you don't draw on your hd that much then its no biggy. 5400rpm is basically the same actually because the platter is denser so... but there are quite a few new hd's out or coming out in the near future. keep your eyes peeled. have a good trip Prasad
-
it only matters when loading. probably few seconds faster.
-
-
Enjoy your trip Prasad with the new toy. I am guessing you will get something nice for it, right
Electronics are nicely priced in Dubai, perhaps a gaming mouse & a pad cooler would be needed considering the heat generated by the sun in Bahrain & your new games -
I already got a Logitech MX518 Gaming-grade mouse
But thanks for the suggestion about the cooler. Will look into it if I find one
Currently on free wifi in the hotel, in Dubai
-
The OP has now been edited to thumbnails
-
what hdd did they supply you with just curious? thanks
-
It's a Western Digital 320GB 5400RPM drive
-
Where did you get the Logitech MX518 from? & for how much if from Bahrain?
Also would you please post if you find some sweet deals..you know what i am taking about -
I got the mouse here in Bahrain (from EMax, Marina Mall).... for ~22 BHD (Bahrain Dinars) = $58.3 (USD)
-
Nice pics Prasad! Mine will be delivered Monday! Your thread just makes the waiting worse!
It looks like we have almost the same specs except for the HD. Are you using the free case on your vacation or did you pick up another one? Have a safe and enjoyable vacation! -
sweet just got me the 320gb wd drive...
-
I'm currently using the free case from XoticPC... it's nice and sturdy... something I had not excepted from anything free TBH, but it just is! But I personally am more comfortable with a backpack and will be buying one soon
-
Hey Prasad, can you do a HDtune test for me so I can see how fast it is compared to mine ?

Congratulations on the machine, nice review. I am sure reviews like this make a lot of people pull the trigger.
If I had the money for a new Sager, I would have pulled the trigger already. -
Congrats on the killer new system! I got mine like 2 weeks ago. I have one question though, I have the exact same specs as you except for I have a 200gb 7200 HD. I noticed your 3dmark06 score was 9200. On default settings I cant get mine past 8700-8800. I am useing 174.85 driver but I have tried just about all of them.
Thanks. -
Will that 500GB HDD be compatabile?
-
What 500 GB hdd? as long as it`s 2.5 sized, it should have no problem.
-
Awesome pics! It's great to see you finally have the 5793
Have fun with it!! -
the 500GB 2.5" SATA will work for current notebooks using SATA 150/300
-
"As a red carpet to the world of high-end gaming" nicely said!!! just like me when i got my m15x, my 1st high-end Computer!!!! it feels like you can take on the world as you can played ALL TYPE OF GAMES NOW with all on high setting and being indulge in the high graphical environment~~~ ahahahaa..
-
Are you using windows vista x64 sp1 ? maybe all that matters....
-
Eleron, here's the bench you wanted!
Is it a good result ? -
That`s not bad. Although a 7200rpm would look nicer, it`s still better than my 120 fujitsu...
-
I see...
-
hmm i was torn between the wd 320 and the samsung 320 i got the wd since i found it cheaper.. i hope i made the right choice now..
-
I think I may get that 500GB HDD soon....
-
Cool! I'm a NBR Reviewer now!!
Thanks to Chaz!
