    Hey all,

Looking to pull the trigger and purchase my 1st "gaming" laptop. I usually build my own desktops, but I need some mobility so I sold my old laptop and am ready to purchase one.

    Got two questions

    1) Have you purchased from Xoticpc? What'd you buy? How was your experience?

    2) I'm worried about Sager build quality. More specifically, the NP9170 and NP9150. Do any of you have any recommendations on maybe some review videos, etc? Not so much about a specific customization, but the overall chassis, etc.

    Thanks for your time!

I have not purchased from XoticPC, but my next door neighbor has. He's experienced no problems so far, and many on the forums recommend them from what I've read.

Here's some videos actually put out by XoticPC on the machines mentioned:
XOTIC PC - Sager NP9150 (Clevo P150EM) Video Review - YouTube
    XOTIC PC - Sager NP9170 / Clevo P170EM Video Review - YouTube

As far as build quality, I believe Clevo is very good.

What he said. I have had dealings with XoticPC and their sales and service staff are very polite and respond in a timely manner. My friend ordered a P170EM laptop from them and is still awaiting delivery due to the 7970M debacle. Clevo's build quality is considered to be good although the look of their laptops is (tastefully, in my opinion) understated.

I have ordered from XoticPC (the NP9170em) but have not received my laptop yet due to ordering the 7970M. I did a lot of research on gaming laptops and I think you can not go wrong with sager and Xotic. Their staff is wonderful and from what I can tell sager/ clevo are top of the line laptops.

Thanks for the reference! I'll probably try them out. Anyone want to give me their email they used to make a purchase so I can mark you as a referal? Figure might as well give someone credit. If there's a forum thread for referals already, I apologize. I think they send you something for a future purchase.

I got an np9130 from xotic-- had it about a month. No problems to report. Put my order in, got the computer a few weeks later, and it's running smoothly thus far. Can't speak to their customer service in a good or bad way-- haven't had to deal with them b/c the computer runs smoothly.

First Sager I've owned and am impressed with how it looks, feels, and runs.

The only thing I'll say about it is that it is rather bland looking-- all black and "professional" looking. There is no way you would guess this baby has a GTX670 card. But in all honesty, that was a selling point for me-- I am not into the flashy looks of some of the Alienware and Quosmio computers. If you are looking for an all black, simple looking computer that runs like a Lamborghini, then Sager might be a good choice.

I also purchased a computer from Xotic. The rep I worked with was really good :)
Sager has a really good build quality as other mentioned. Stick with NP91XX line and you'll enjoy the computer. If you have any questions feel free to PM me.

I am purchasing my second Sager (NP9170) through XoticPC which should say something. I made the mistake of going to one of the "other" vendors after the first one I purchased through XoticPC and that proved to be a mistake. I am now back to ordering through them and pretty happy about it.

I just ordered last week, so I am well prepared knowing the supply issues with the AMD cards.
