I ordered a 2090 from xoticpc about 2 weeks ago, but I'm leaving for college in about 4 days. I've heard that some sellers require UPS/Fedex to get the signature of someone 21+ in order to deliver it. The problem is that I'm moving into an all-freshmen dorm, so there'd be no one there who could sign for me. I've emailed Xotic's customer service, but they couldn't give me a direct answer: "They will most likely only require a signature for Delivery." Can somebody who has experience with xoticpc give me a real answer?

Your university will sign for you, because the shipper will deliver to the mail room. They then send you an email telling you to come get your package. At least that is how my university works, and I don't think it's a novel procedure that they use :)

nope...xoticpc's shipping does not require and adult signature...for me anyway.

I am only 14 and I signed my package from them.

Well, it might also just have been sloppiness on the part of the guy doing the delivery - not, mind you, that I'm casting any aspersions in your direction, you seem like more than a match for any number of so-called "adults" I've met in the past.

My 7 yrs. old son accepted a package delivered by UPS for me the other day to my home. The guy didn't ask for a signature (he was supposed to). Just rang the door bell and handed the box to my son. By the time I came to the door, which was only a few seconds later, the guy was already in the driveway walking toward his truck. Yes, my son did get a big lesson and stern warning for answering the door without supervision.

"But dad, he was the UPS man..."

i signed for my package and i wasn't even 18 yet. the ups guy doesn't really care. but mets is right, your college should accept your package for you and it will be up to you to get it from them.

i think if the person who the package is for signs it...then it is ok. it is also ok to get a signature...the UPS person doesnt really care, and just wants to leave as quickly as possible imo.
