2nd LCD and yes... this one have a dead pixel!!! yay im so happy!

look like im going to have a desktop and a cheap acer laptop very soon...

but first i have to wait and see what eurocom will say about that...

I cant belive it happen again... this time is in the middle right part of the LCD...

I guess im the most unlucky guy here... 2 in 2! great score... i wasted 15days for the same result... the worst part in that is i took only 15sec to find it...

you can just look at device manager and click monitor then right click properties on "plug in play monitor" then click details tab. should be there.

dang dude... that sucks.... but not the worse.

a few other members beat the odds with up to 4 LCD replacements... due to dead pixels..

my friend was 4 for 4 with a Pro-Star notebook... although I suspect that they swapped the unit once for a new one, and the previous back ... we saw a dead pixel on the 3rd unit in the same place as the 1st... LOL.

Well, IF you dont get a palatable response, just return the dang laptop and get from Xotic, even if u have to pay extra for shipping 2 Canada. Check if Eurocom charges 15% restocking fee...

I'm going to get my 4th M570RU within reasonable time. I now have my third one; 2 dead pixels.. My reseller agreed that I can keep this one untill he has one with no dead pixels, so it can be replaced within a week or so. Unfortunately that's what he said the last time too... But he said he wanted to try one more time to get me a good one. Positive side of the story is that I will get the new model (M570RU-U) this time.

    My opinion:

MegaBUD, if you want a nice laptop, don't go and buy an Acer.. I asked Justin from Xoticpc about the dead pixels and he said they had very few of them. So maybe it depends on your reseller (who might just get dead pixel units because his supplier sells the notebooks too, including dead pixel warranty!). The M570RU is a great laptop and I wouldn't want to trade the portability + power for a cheap laptop and a desktop you don't carry around...

I talk with Mr eurocom himself... on the phone... hes sending me another LCD panel and ill change it myself or ill ask another technician here... last try... after that its refund... and probably mail justin at xotic see if he can do better... if not... going back to desktop...

You can buy at eurocom... maybe i was just the unlucky one... or like he said "maybe i have very good eyes" anyway this way i can keep my laptop and just change the lcd later... oh and it wont void my warranty... and hes sending me the complete instruction...

well I downoloaded the fan control fmrware and burned it let it install then i turned off like it said, but I guess because Eurocom m571ru already has a hotkey for F1 (turns touchpad on/off) the firmware update didnt work. SHould I download the Sager hotkey instead of the Eurocom one?

Mega... You’re just like a buddy of mine. He got a new unit and everything about it was great but he kept going on and on about this horrendous dead pixel he had. I never heard the end of hic complaining about it. One day he lends me his laptop and I use it for about 2 days and don't even think about the pixel issue he went on about. I talk to him on the phone and he asks me how I like his dead pixel. I have not even noticed it. I ask him were it is and he tells me to the pixel where it is... i can’t see it. I run a program on his machine he tells me to run that helps find dead pixels and it still took me 10 mins to find the stupid thing! Bottom line.. In a WUXGA display one dead pixel is almost impossible to see... unless you spend all your time looking for it!

Get a hobby! lol.. Kidding about the hobby. maybe your just consumed with dead pixels!

That's perfectly understandable, it's like the difference between buying a Hyundai and a Rolls Royce - finding a scratch on the Hyundai right after you drive off the lot will annoy you, and you might try to get some satisfaction once or twice, but eventually you'll just shrug it off; on the Rolls, though, it'll eat your guts out until it gets repaired to your satisfaction (at least that's my guess, I'd never buy the first, and I'll never be able to buy the second  ).

Why? He's right. I always though that this laptop is perfect, but after seeing what a M17x can hold in the same size I changed my mind.
