Post your setup here if you have a 7970M. This is just for fun, show off.

    7970M running Leshcat 12.6 @ 950/1375 gaming, stable.
Using X-Fi Go with Shure SRH840 and Steelseries Q mat, Logitech Performance MX

    Cooling:
Strengthened the GPU Core heatsink, ICD7, Foil all around for both CPU/GPU (including underneath), 8 copper heatsinks.

I moved the heatsinks all onto the heatpipes.

Now this is I nice free-flowing thread. Also like these kind of threads once at a time :) Just had a free day so I decided to take some pics and share my setup with you guys.

So this ist the overview of my table at the dorm- I spend much more time here than at actual home so..This is where all my stuff stays.

I'm running the stock drivers usually overcloked to 950/1400 but can easily game at even 1000/1500 or even higher.
When my girlfriend or neighbours go to sleep and I still wanna listen to music or game, I turn of my old Genius speakrs and put these on. The AKG 420k arent esspecially for gaming, but thay get the job done. It's just a shame that the audio output is so bad form this clevo :(

For precisse aiming and cad drawing and what ever I have this old Razer Copperhead tha came with asus G51 back in the days

To be even more precise I recently bought an steel series QCK+ mouse pad

If things start to get hot It's time for my old Zalman Nc 2000 to take care of it :) Been serving me for more than 3 years now and still working perfect and silent. I can only recommend it.!!

As an external monitor I use a 23" LG IPS236. It is one of the cheapes Ips monitor but when you're in a budged it's the way to go.

When talking about 7970m this is also a wery important thing. :) having headaches and spending hours of time reinstallyng Os and new drivers to get it work properly, Playing with my fingerboard filled the waiting time perfectly :)

And one more overview photo from a diffrent perspective

    Thanks guys :)
Yeah, I played a bit with the mixer settings and also with thx app settings to get the crossover freqenci right. It was better but not like it skould be. The sound output is better even on a cheap acer notebook, so I'm deciding maybe to get a external soundcard??
When I plug it into the geniuses the sound is actually better couse I can set bass and trebble like I want, but the cable isnt that long to feel comfortable so I just use the notebook output
I took this shots with My Nikon D40 which is a older DSLr but It's all you need. Pired with a 35mm f1.8 nikkor lens it makes magical photos. The first fotoo is with a set 18-55mm lens others with the 35mm

very nice. i just tried using the optical out to my amp as i thought it should be like connecting a regular cd player but end up no difference from the headphone out. i think before it passes the singal to optical out it is being processed by the cheap sound chip and not a direct digital signal.

Optical SPDIF should be bit perfect transfer. These are just 0s and 1s, it's digital. Doesn't make sense to have it "processed." All the processing is, is converting the digital 0s and 1s to analog signal for your headphones/speakers. So doesn't make sense to be "processed" and then converted back to digital to send to your amp via optical.

Maybe you are right, if you are, then that is just a terrible implementation. Best is to just connect via USB, Firewire, whatever, and have your player set to not even touch the Realtek.

You can buy a USB dongle from TurtleBeach for $24.

I'll take a pic of my setup in a few hours. Sure others will be willing to do so also.

But again, this is not a discussion thread, there are already so many posts of people attempting various methods to improve cooling. This is just show off what you did with your Clevo with a 7970M and your setup.

If you could post what you did to strengthen your heat sink.

    Thanks
