I know for me it has to be Reflex. When I was originally in the market for a new laptop I checked out this guide by paramehdic (I still think it's helpful although it is a little outdated now).

Reflex is a major player for Canadian buyers on these forums because of two reasons. The first one being that they are the only Canadian based Sager/Clevo option that has a Rep on these forums. The second reason is because with them you get free shipping and brokerage to all major centers across Canada while in comparison you can expect to pay ~100 shipping (minimum) and ~10 dollars brokerage with a US based reseller.

As for my reasons for liking reflex, I will first give a bit of background on my experience from the start of my short time here on these forums. (You can skip the following paragraph if you are just interested in hearing about Reflex).

I was initially impressed with the customization options of one of the other resellers on the above list and decided to give them a call. With the other guy, the rep I was on the phone with at the time didn't answer some of my questions very well and when I asked who I was dealing with the person hung up me. I was left with a very cold impression of the company and decided to talk with a rep on this forum who I have seen help multiple people before. From the forum rep, I was given the response that there was 1 hour left before the weekend and that could explain why I was treated that way, no sorry or anything but the forum rep did offer to answer any questions I still had. I then PM'd my questions to the rep and he chose to ignore the PM and subsequently a follow up PM one week later and I have not bothered to deal with the company since.

In any event, the reason why I am sharing that story with you is that while that was all happening and I was still in good spirits with the other guy and waiting to hear back from them (or so I thought!), I decided to contact Reflex by phone and told the person who I was dealing with (who I later found out was the director of Reflex) that I was probably going to go with somebody else but if he would be so kind as to indulge my questions it would be greatly appreciated. He spent half an hour with me on the phone going through every question and I never once felt that he was pressuring me to switch my buyer decision. That really stuck with me and when my dealings with the other rep fell apart, I knew without a doubt that I would be happy to deal with Reflex.

    Hope this helps,

    Michael

I've never bought from Reflex before, but I've heard nothing but good things. I may get that 11.6" Clevo and if I do I'll get it from them. Although I live in Montreal where Reflex is located and will have to pay the Quebec Sales Tax, it should still work out to be around the same price as if I would order it and have it shipped from XoticPC with the duties and everything.

There are no import duties when shipping a notebook from the US to Canada - you simply pay the same GST/PST/HST taxes that you have to pay when you purchase a laptop locally. :)

@Michael - Customer satisfaction is #1 with us, like I've said before ... we'd rather a client/potential client leave happy spending $0 than an unhappy customer who spent $3000. We have a passion for everything involving computers, be it desktop/notebook/tablets, you name it we love it.

@Crylo - You never have to pay duties, it's brokerage and taxes, just wanted to clarify that.

Thanks for answering guys and the reps from Reflex and Malibal.

I know for Xotic PC, you would have to choose the UPS Express ($99 option) in order to avoid brokerage/duties.

@NovaH - you mentioned that Reflex is very customer service oriented, are their any price benefits for Canadians? Looking to purchase a Sager either this week or next (pending ivb)

I've been in the market to purchase a laptop since December. Sold two laptops (12" and 17") to offset the costs. I decided on Sager after reading these forums, and since I live in Canada, I will be most likely purchasing from Reflex based on the feedback I've read here. Patiently waiting for the IB CPUs.

Same, but now I don't know if I should wait for the AMD 7970m or not...

What kind of discount do we get being an NBR member? Would like to hopefully be able to get the 9150 w/o going over my budget. :)

PM NovaH to get some details. Resellers can't say this kind of stuff directly on these forums.

    Correct.

I responded to Valion's PM, go ahead Aylmer and shoot me a PM if you wish.
