    I was just curious around what temp is your CPU and GPU at while you are doing like 2+ hours of gaming. I noticed that for me my CPU is usually around 60-65 C and my GPU is around 65-70 depending on which game it is. Obviously Skyrim pushes the machine to the max. Are these temps considered "normal"? What do your machines usually run at?

    my cpu temps are 55-60 and gpu temps depanding the game varies from 65 to 76 max!my room temp is 22 celsious!!

    iMaCuLaTe your temps are great. If the GPU is 65-70C under load those are very low. Average is 75-85C once you get above 90C you'll want to consider cleaning the vents or repasting. If you get over 95C you'l definitely want to look into improving cooling

    Clearly there is a big difference in load temperature from the 6970M to the 6990M because the 6990M is a good 5-10oC higher in my most circumstances. Although the power jump is quite big as well compared to how the 5850 and 5870M lined up.

    I see similiar idle temps of 30-40oC but mine can hit 84oC on the shaders when gaming for a long time.

    Okay that's good to know. I was playing Skyrim for like 2 hours and then I quickly minimized it and looked at the temps with Speccy and it said that the GPU was at 70. I wasn't sure if that was high or not lol. Thanks for the info guys. I gave you all rep.

    max i have seen is 76C for my 6970M and low 70s for the cpu.

    skyrim doesn't really push it to the max. It's not that demanding of a game. I can run it even on my intel integrated graphics on my other laptop. Of course the whole picture changes if you change the ugrids and add other mods etc.

    Wait, wait, wait...

    If you just see these temp when you minimized, it's a bit different in the reality.

    There's enough time when you switch to let drop the temp....

    You have to record during games with HW Monitor for example to see what's your real max temp in games. I bet that you will see a difference!

    Just try it! (it's a really light app)
