After all, Donald and the resellers main goal is to sell. Thats why you got to take their opinions with some salt. I`ve seen resellers outright lying to me about the MSI with the 580M and how quiet it is when it was far from the truth.

I guess everything can't be true all the time, example a lot of resellers name their "machines" the strongest in the world *hint hint* (EUROCOM) *hint hint* nothing much and it's always something you have to take with some precaution and critique. Proving several efficient and positive points is their main objective, also this is a forum therefore I cannot face the person hiding behind the screen personally physically and visually which gives the advantage of lying and manipulation (not that you can't do it face to face, it's just easier online) :)

Don't get me wrong, I'm not pointing fingers, I'm just saying different people have different ways of life and when it comes down to it all, it's ALL business.

Wouldn't ICD7 paste w/ cooling pad bring the temperature down and hence the noise? That way, those who are more sensitive to the noise can still enjoy playing on their laptops. From my point of view, if I'd like everything about laptop except the noise I'd pay a little extra to keep it cooler/quieter.

It lists on the specification sheet. See some battery improvement while the unit is idle. But why? This is a gaming laptop!

You simply cannot tell anything about noise levels from a video or audio recording because you can turn your own volume up or down to make it louder or quieter, and that will have no bearing on the actual sound level that you will find when it is in your hands.

The ~2hr battery life of gaming laptops have always been something I hoped would improved with Nvidia developing Optimus. I had previously owned a NP8662 w/ 260m and while it was a great laptop in many ways, I would always run out of juice during 3hr lectures without a power outlet. If I was taking notes or following along with a powerpoint presentation, I was SOL for the latter of the class. I switched back to hand-written notes after that.

I will probably go with the NP9150 this time around but am holding off until reviews with the 7000m and non-rebadged 600m series come about. The performance vs. power consumption ratio btwn them is the deal-breaker for me. I hope that the upcoming 680m w/ Optimus will significantly extend the battery life over the 7000m series. That would certainly make the "Nvidia tax" worth it. :D

The videos are nice. I did appreciate the 8150 videos the xoticpc folks put out. Hope to see those for the 9150 soon.

The efficiency numbers and temps will be very interesting when the keplers and the 7000m's show up.

Using the integrated video card, and with the screen brightness turned down to where it is still comfortable to read, the keyboard lights turned off, no WiFi or Bluetooth on, and doing business productivity applications you will get over 4 hours battery life. With the same conditions but watching a Blu-ray movie we get right at about 3 hours.

No, we only build and sell new computers so we do not take trade ins :)

Great videos. I understand why everyone loves 1080p screens but any reseller out there that can do custom screen options? All eyes are different. I would so love to have GTX 670M/675M and a lower native resolution like 1600x900!

    Thank you

Have you tried it? Any time you lower the native resolution - the sharpness is lost. things are a bit blurry.

    Thank you

I know, there are though some things you can do to reduce the blurry-effect.

    1. lower/higher refresh rate
    2. disable clear type in windows
    3. turn software scaling on/off
    4. increasing the size of the font and icons

Or simply change the DPI settings, Windows Vista DPI scaling: my Vista is bigger than your Vista – istartedsomething, not sure how it works on Windows 7, but you can probably find a way. :)

For what i know, only the P151Em is the only one that does not come with a backlit keyboard. Both p150em and p170em comes with it.

edit: nevermind, video clearly shows sandy bridge CPU.

My question. Do these models in hand already have the Ivy Bridge CPUs that the resellers can't show because of NDA?

No, they do not YET, they are currently shipping with the Sandy Bridge CPU to my knowledge.

They should be offered with the third-gen Intel CPU around April 29th.

Just so people don't freak out, the blowing noise in the LPC videos is the wind and NOT the fans. That is unless the fans make chirping bird sounds as well.

That is correct. :) That was the actual wind blowing into the mic.

To show the texture and layout better, a portion was taken outside in the open air.

It has been breezy of late in the Las Vegas area. But I did not want to hold up doing the video any longer...

(I was already a few days late) since these models are shipping at a good rate right now... ;)

I heard they do, but it's more of an eagle sound than a bird. I also heard the fans will attack you if you get too close their nest.

Right at 3mins in hes really close to the exhaust ports and there is no noise heard at all, granted everything is pretty much running idle. Of course underload sound will increase.

    Will own a P170EM soon.

My only beef is the power button. Clevo should be using that awesome X7200/P270WM classic style button on more models.

The glossy LCD bezel really sucks too, but I get over it. Someone with some influence needs to get Clevo to realize that a matte bezel is the way to go, for everything.
