So I ordered my 8660 a lil bit ago, but I'm still not sure which cooler I want for it. And since I'll be using it extensively, I find it to be a very important accessory.

Alot of people recommend the zalman nc1000 or 2000 for just about any laptop.

Thing is it looks like the area's it needs cooling in are the mid to upper areas, since the intake and gpu are located in that area. But then again, I'm just guessing from looking at pictures...

So, factoring out cost, which cooler does everyone think will be best for it? Which are you buying yourself, or have bought already?

Nzxt Cryo? Zalman nc2000? or something else entirely?

zalman units work fine for general cooling purposes.

if u have a gaming/powerful notebook, and dont mind spendin a little extra. then the cryo LX would be the way to go.

I won't be using cooling for 8660, I don't want to have another bulky thing on my desk with all my books and articles...

the Cryo LX may be the way to go if you want the most airflow from a cooler... although it does consume more power compared to a Zalman cooler.

15.4" notebooks will have slight (less than 1" total) overhang... but will be snug on the stage.

Helio, I've seen it on newegg and amazon...and several other sites now finding it with a decent shipping cost/time...thats been a whole different search entirely

    any suggestions on reputable sellers?

edit: Wow...seems like alot of sites I've searched are on backorder or out of stock...so I guess they are pretty elusive lol

I don't really like ebay, because a lot of them just buy things cheaper on the internet then try to sell those cheap things on ebay to people don't have a whole lot knowledge of them...

the nice thing about the zalman is that it is so incredibly quiet!
