Afaik, if your laptop breaks you'd have to send it to US for repairs and pay for the shipping costs both ways. They will honor the warranty though.

    Hi thedarkclaw,
When purchasing a Sager the warranty included is US based only. We do however let you ship back just the particular part that has gone bad to help save on shipping costs, for example: the HDD fails, you could ship back just the HDD instead of the entire notebook.

If the motherboard dies the whole computer will have to be sent back.

Asus and MSI do have 1yr global warranties so you can get repairs at a local facility instead of sending it back to the states. Sager warranties are U.S only

some companies like MSI and ASUS have service centres around the world.
so you can bring your notebook to your nearest location for repair.

Exactly what I meant. Since you live in Sri Lanka there could be a repair facility there. As mentioned though, Sager does not offer that, they only do repairs in the U.S

I would think that if you could import it to Sri Lanka you could send it back to the Sager factory in the unlikely event it fails during the warranty period.

However if you were practical about it, you could probably get it repaired at a local shop in Sri Lanka for less than the cost of shipping both ways to the USA. I know it grates to have to pay for a repair while your warranty is in effect, but there is no reason to spend more for shipping than a local repair would cost...right?
