Good morning everyone,
A very warm hello from a humble falling cat.
I need some information regarding the Sager NP8660 (Built on Clevo M860TU)
1) is the graphics card on this setup "user upgradable" ?
2) what type of graphics slot does this setup comes with ?
4) is the cpu on this setup "user upgradable" ?
5) how old is this sager model ? how long has it been on the market ?
6) besides the 9800 GTS, what other graphics option can I install on this setup ?
Thanks
Your most humble
Falling Cat Spangky

yes, if you mean that a consumer like yourself can purchase a MXM compatible videocard and being able to install it yourself
Supports MXM Type IV and III
again... yes. you can go purchase a standard Socket P (Montevina) CPU and install it yourself.
The Clevo M860TU was debuted at CeBIT in March and was shipped to customers in Fall 2008.
Clevo has had many critics about their MXM-IV slot not being too upgradeable, (which Nvidia has reluctantly confirmed to be their latest slot, but not officially announced it)....
... But, so far the MXM-IV for Clevo notebooks (M570RU, M570TU, M860TU, D901C) have seen:
- 7950GTX
- 7950GTX SLI (with Clevo D901C)
- 8700M GT
- 8700M GT SLI (with Clevo D901C)
- 8800M GTX
- 8800M GTX SLI (with Clevo D901C)
- 9800M GTS
- 9800M GTS SLI (with Clevo D901C) ... not confirmed yet.
- 9800M GT
- 9800M GT SLI (with Clevo D901C)
- 9800M GTX*
- 9800M GTX SLI (with Clevo D901C)
- Quadro 1600M
- Quadro 1700M
- Quadro 2700M
- Quadro 3700M*
...... more to come.
* not recommended for the M860TU... due to heat.
Thats a lot of videocards that's supported by one MXM Type IV slot...
