ager NP8690 With 5870 : In UK?

So i have it down to 2 options for my next laptop either the NP8690 with either the 285m GTX or the 5870 or the Envy 15 but i was wondering i see that XoticPC have the 5870 as an option for the NP8690 but i checked Kobalt and they said they WONT have it as an option so is there anywhere else in the UK i could get the NP8690 with the 5870?

 

Ough, epic fail in UK... weird, dont get it though.

If I were you, I would probably move to other country with HD5870 available in notebook, no matter where

If Kobalt does not offer it you can always try other EU resellers. The German resellers generally have a very good reputation.

 

shame i cant read any other language, but as its in EU means no Import Tax

Generally they all speak English, if you have trouble with their website just send them an email.

The problem with buying form US is that you have to add the VAT on top of the US price, plus shipping which in many cases takes the overall costs over EU prices. Not to mention that if you have trouble with the system and you have to send it back and again this is more expansive if you buy it from US. Although in most cases, best is to buy it from your own country.

it was the cheapest i could find with the 5780 - it was about 150-200euros cheaper then others i could find

 

You should also try Mysn or deviltech, they have pretty good reputations.

 

i checked both of them, the price to upgrade to the 5870 seems to change via the different stores - it was going around 79 upto 300Euros to upgrade

 

Im from the UK and bought mine in while im the US, If you bought a laptop from another country wouldnt you have to pay slaes tax when they hip it over ? rather then going over yourself although you should declair it

As a footnote Kobalt said that if I have issues with my 8690 I can send it to them for repairs whe nI get back to the UK however I will have to pay a premium.

i just read the post on there site, i read one of the threads and it sounded like it wasnt going to happen i might have read it wrong, i just hope when they do get it it doesnt cost too much to upgrade to it, most places make the 285 cost more so it should cost a bit less for the 5870

sales tax maybe but not Import Tax if buying from within Europe which adds upwards of £300 onto the price if i had a Passport, the time and everything i would order from USA and go pick it up

Kobalt have witheld announcing thier support for it pending the offical update from Clevo.

They were waiting for confirmation of shipping dates etc

But as DJ said, they will be available from Monday in the 860 and 870 units
