the new Toshiba - X305 boosts a NVIDIAGeForce 9800M GTX, and a dual core 3 GHz processor, looks very stylish too.

I was wondering if it would be faster than the 9262, any upgrades for the 9262? Will it support a 9800 GTX? in SLI maybe :)

How about this processor how would it fare against the Quad core..

i am planning to get a laptop in about 3 weeks, and the X-305 looks very interesting.

    Any Thoughts?

that platform thats ALREDE in the D901c is faster than the Montevina platform... becuz this is actually a motherboard thats practically half desktop lol.. its a hybrid. So it supports The Q9550 which is a 2.93 Quadcore... OR if you want a 3 gig dual core, The cool E8400 that can be overclocked to 3.4 while staying cool since its the new technology. And the consensus is that the D901c SHOULD support the 9800 although nothing has been said yet. I mean, it just has to....

    yup what Doodles said.

I have said it before as well....

The Clevo D901C (aka. Sager 9262, Comanche, Black-Hawk) is using a desktop platform... even the new mobile Montevina platform cannot hold up against the performance.

    CPU
The D901C has had quad-core support (65nm & 45nm) for quite some time now, as well as the prices for those CPUs are quite bang for the buck.

When mobile quad-core's are available, they will easily be $1000 a piece (not bang for the buck at all)... and probably wont stand up against a desktop quad-core in overall performance.

    GPU:
Clevo gaming notebooks are using MXM-IV modules that can be swapped out and upgraded by the user.

The D901C currently has 8800M GTX SLI, which easily beats any single 9800M GTX
(a single 9800M GTX is likely to perform more than 10-15% faster than a single 8800M GTX).

When the 9800M GTX is out, it will also be available in MXM-IV, so the current Clevo's should be able to upgrade them with no issues.

I expect the D901C to have SLI 9800M GTX (that's 2GB of video memory) when the card is available and gets config'ed with drivers.

The X305 will only have a single card, so even a current SLI 8800M GTX setup would kill the X305 in gaming performance.

    RAM:
    pretty comparable on both ends.

the D901C already has support for up to 8GB DDR2-800

    HDD:
no notebook can do what the D901C can with the number of HDD's that can be used internally without the Smartbay/Optical drive switch out crap.

three internal HDDs that can house SSDs as well.

    it can have a whopping 1.5TB of storage (3 x 500GB SATA 2.5")

not to mention that it has RAID 0,1,5 capabilities as well.

    Optical Drive:
most high-end notebooks have standard optical drive bays (so you can buy from places like Newegg, and install a Blu-Ray drive whenever you choose.)

    Cooling:
There is no doubt in anyone's mind that the D901C has the beefiest cooling/thermal design that no other notebook can touch.

    Stability:
The Clevo D901C has been established. Its fully stable and has a massive community.

Not to say that the X305 is bad, but new technology is not immune to bugs or errors.... so expect to see them so you will not be surprised.

so does anyone has any info when the 9800GTX in SLI will be available for the 9262?
Even if the laptop is upgradable, i really dont pay twice in a row for this.... One big payment , then i want the laptop to last at least 2 years .......

How about the speakers, how loud and good are they compared to harmon /kardon??

The 9800GTX will be available when ever it gets released. Some say this month, some say next month. I wouldn't doubt a November/December launch.

    I've never used my speakers.

all you guys forgot about the FSB, 1066 vs. 1333. But no doubt dual core 3.0Ghz will out perform quad core 2.83Ghz in roughly 90% of games right now.

The Toshiba will be fast, but it cannot hold a candle against SLI 8800M GTXs that can be found in the 9262.

Sorry to go off-topic... but what on earth do you have in your 9262 to get that phenomenal score? Awesome!
