    I would like to know what is meant by the motherboard upgrade too. Is it only necessary for the NP5790/1 users to be able to use the 9800M GTX? Or do ALL M570RU(-U)'s need a MB upgrade?

    Did any resellers ever comment about that? Considering they went on and on about having to send in the np5791 to do the upgrade.

    Well, if anyone can be sure you did not need the MB upgrade for the 8800M, it's zfactor.

    So probably it indeed is a way to make more money selling a new graphics card along with a new MB.

    Dude,the resellers had nothing to say when a lot of 5790/1 users upgraded to the 8800M GTX and had NO sleep issues.

    At time of release, Clevo confirmed that HW rework was needed. Sager also confirmed that the issue existed and the HW rework indeed took care of it at the time of release.

    It appears after some drivers update the issue has also gone away, it could very well return with future driver updates. We won’t know until even newer drivers are released.

    Luck or not though,many 5791s fully support the 8800M GTX. So maybe the 9800M GTX support is not that far fetched.

    The 9800M GTS hasn't even been launched yet (though they are out there :D), let alone the GTX... I'd be more concerned with a 10 series M GTX tbh

    I didn't mean it like that, used to refering to them as 10 series because of desktop GPUs (thats what they were refered to anyway). Sorry for confusion!!

    please no offense to any reseller but i still say its a money game from clevo. not on the reseller end but from the source. i have seen more than a dozen upgraded 8800's and not a single one had a issue.. again no offense to anyone.. just my opinion

    Considering back when I was looking into the M570RU, I was going to just buy a 8700m gt system and planned on upgrading later, but then they came up with the whole story about having to send it to them for the upgrade so it wouldn't have any problems and they wouldn't guarantee it would come back working. What bothers me the most though is that even after you did your upgrade I don't recall seeing resellers saying the MB upgrade wasn't needed anymore.

    lol know what sager tried telling me when i called to ask about it??? get this ... a new chipset.. i said ummm no. he sai doh yeah we had to use a different chipset... no.. its still the 965..he prob had no idea what he was talking about but i thought it was pretty funny

    Well,as Z said no offence to the resellers ,but sounds more and more like a money game. I haven't heard of a single unit that upgraded to the 8800M GTX and lost the sleep ability.
    And for that matter,if I put the computer to sleep while powered on AC,let it go to sleep,remove the AC ,resume,the computer will resume into a blank.
    But I`m using the first BIOS that came with the laptop,and I`m really curious if a new BIOS will fix this...

    The D901C is not subject to chance in the recent future, since it uses a desktop chipset and that is pretty much better than any mobile one at the moment.
    Granted, it cannot use DDR3 yet,but who cares, put in a quad at 3.0Ghz and it obliterates anything on the market.
    I`d get a 9262 anyday...

    Well, it can`t hurt to wait say max 1 month, but after that, choose whatever fits best for you.
    I`d get a 9262 if I could sell my 5791...
