Most results we've been seeing are a little higher at 5700-5900 but usually with a i7 3610QM for the CPU. Since you're using the i7 2670QM that could explain the slightly lower score.

I'd have to agree with Hutsady. It's a LITTLE low but that's most likely because of your last gen CPU. Either way, your score will most likely go up when some better drivers come out.

so i dont have a performance issue that could give me low fps in games?

btw i have stock amd driver 8.951.6.0 , does the new drivers significantly improve performance ?

Definitely due to your 2670QM. However, if you look at your GPU score, it is in the 5600 range and on par with the GPU score that everyone with Ivy Bridge processors is getting. So in reality this should have no noticeable effect on gaming.
I just installed the 7970M into my NP8170 with a 2720QM and also had a lower overall score than our Ivy Bridge brethren, but again the GPU score is completely within normal ranges and on par for gaming.

I've been getting around 5600 with my 3610, 7970m and stock driver. I'm still trying to figure out how I can get it to 5700

3dMark doesn't properly detect clock rates sometimes. His card is likely running at 850/1200. A lot of results posted for the 7970M and even older cards show improper clocks at stock and even on OC.
If you check my results @ 930/1525, you'll see that 3dMark doesn't detect my clock rates in this case either.

I am currently using the 12.7 beta from AMD's website. That is the highest OC I can push right now, very happy with the memory however the core won't budge further than 930 even with the memory clocked down. My card is running at 1.00V at load though, which is strange, so that may have something to do with it. Currently looking into whether this has something to do with what Sager did when they modded the vBIOS to make the 7970M compatible with previous generation machines.
For Kwilaik, I'd suggest trying some benchmarks with ThrottleStop running to see if that changes things.
Regardless, anyone getting 5600 GPU score with their 7970M should be happy, as this is the standard. Beastly cards! -

How do you get this driver to work?
I always getting error after restart. "Driver is not compatibile with CCC, or something" -
So far I've been able to install any reference driver from AMD without any compatibility issues whatsoever, whether over-top the drivers Sager sent me with my 7970M or through a clean install after uninistalling previous drivers and doing a wipe with driver sweeper. This may be due to the modded vBIOS on my card that makes it compatible with HM series machines, however I cannot confirm that.
are these normal results?
