Hi everyone,
Does anyone here use a Sager/Alienware/Xxodd/Clevo for audiorecording??

I use Nuendo for mine.
I use a M-Audio FW1814 external soundcard.
works fine since the firewire controller is good. -
Hi Gophn,
Looks like a good soundcard to me, what music are you recording with it? Your own or are you recording bands? -
I am doing some mixing and re-arrangements... for fun mainly.
Its a bit overkill to have such a high-end pro-audio soundcard, you can still do the same work with a more bang for the buck pro-card like, M-Audio Transit... which I have as well. -
Maybe it is , but you need a good quality card to hear what you are doing.
I do my mixing and mastering using the t.c. electronic and genelec monitors. -
I recomend the E-MU Tracker Pre($149.99) or if you can spend a litle more the E-MU 0404($199.99).
Both have mic phantom and ASIO 2 support, CS4392 DACs with 112dB A-W SNR on Tracker Pre, AK4396 DACs with 117dB A-W SNR on 0404, both with AK5385A ADCs 112dB A-W SNR, 44.1, 48, 88.2, 96, 176.4, 192kHz from internal crystal, 24-bit I/O, 32-bit processing.
They use the USB 2.0 interface(wich is not as good as FireWire), but to compensate they use low latency USB 2.0 drivers and hardware zero-latency direct monitoring. Windows XP x86/x64, Windows Vista x86/x64 drivers support.
