This is the same chassis that Sager uses, yes.
The chassis is made by Clevo, a company out of Taiwan.

Hypersonic pricing looks pretty nice, from a quick spin thru their config page...
The RAM is way overpriced though. they want $130 for 1G dual channel (2x512). you can get the same from newegg for $80

Too bad they're in NY and would smack me with nearly $200 in taxes.

    Yeah, it's the same thing.

Hypersonic is WAY overpriced. Check out www.PowerNotebook.com, you can get the exact same machine for much less. www.ISTNC.com has the regular Clevo M570A [as posted, Clevo is the ODM that Sager, Hypersonic, etc. are built on] avaliable.

Hmm.. I configured it same as what I was looking at from discountlaptops.com and it came out only 40 bucks more. which is reasonable

They must stretch the difference the higher the upgrades you put in it.

edit- punched the same config into istnc and came out 200 lower... woah..
Now i can't remember why i didn't look at istnc before! thanks chaz! What does shipping run from ISTNC usually?

ISTNC has very good prices, very reputable too. :)

It's nice that you can just not order memory, hard drives, optical drives, etc with it, upgrade those on your own.

The hard drives are definitely overpriced by a good margin, be sure to upgrade that yourself.

I built a notebook and added it to my cart, but I am not sure what shipping is, couldn't figure it out. You can just email them. :)
