Hey I have decided to cancel my order with gateway and get the Sager 5793 or clevo which ever I can.
Where can I buy a barebones one or anyone selling one?

Yes, RJ Tech is the only place I know that sells barebones (besides the untrusty ISTNC).

I got my m570 from RJTech. They have great prices, excellent customer service, and quick delivery. I ordered it in Iraq as I was coming on leave. I got it within a week of ordering it. A nice "welcome home." If you're not comfortable installing parts like the gfx card or CPU, they'll even install them before they ship your laptop. Altogether, I'd say they'll be my first choice when it comes time to replace my new notebook(I've been an XPS customer since '05).

Got mine from R and J tech, went with a barebone because I had a T9300 processor that I had planned on using in my gateway P-6831fx before I sold it. Customer service has been great so far.
I recommend you install the graphics card and processor your self, they where a little sloppy with the gpu paste.

hey bwhxeon, sorry to be off topic. But why did you end up selling your p-6831fx? and do you like your clevo better? as in performance and quality?

Sold it because I took a job that requires a lot of flying. Was going to buy a m15x because it would be smaller. Alienware gave me a hard time and the company ended up giving me work laptop, so I bought barebone model from R and J tech since I had the processor already.

How would you compare the Gateway vs Sager minus the cpu and higher res?

well the Sager has the more powerful graphics card.
so it depends on what you want to do,
if you are mainly wanting to load applications really fast then the dual hard disk solution is preferable a couple of 7200rpm drives in raid 0 is pure heaven

the performance boost in games from the 8800m gtx in the Sager gives you the edge , especially considering the demands of future games.

good luck with your choice :)

no offense, but people who don't own either systems shouldn't be comparing them...sorry but just getting tired of seeing post like this.

Gaming performance is defiantly better, but its not 700$+ better. While it is a great machine, like every laptop it has its flaws. Mostly the loud fans come to mind. I don't mind loud fan speeds while gaming, but not while on battery and surfing the web. Raid hard drives will do nothing more than speed up load times and eat up more of your battery nothing more. To be openly honest I still think about selling my M571RU-U and buying the gateway again.

lol look who I quoted. I have no problem at all with people who are wanting info for a purchase. Its the people who don't have either laptop and feel their need to post comparison info to which they have never tested. The whole comment he made about the 8800m gtx keeping a edge for future games really rubs me the wrong way. The 700$+ you can save by buying the gateway can be put towards a lot of things, including a brand new laptop the following year.

As for the reason to go back to the gateway is because of the price. If I found a buyer for my M571RU-U I would sell it. There are things on the Gateway that I really liked. The price, color design, full four column keypad, quietness and the battery life. Then again their are things I didn't like, glossy screen glossy, clossy paint job, battery sticks out. Those are just a few comparisons, but overall the M571RU-U Is definitely a keeper.

sorry sometimes I dont read everything. Cool thanks how loud is that 5793 does it have three fans or two when I saw a pic of it vs the 5792 I see on the 5793 there is a extra fan right or is that just for the extreme processor?

No extra fan, extra room for bigger heatsinks. They did modify the casing to make room for a fan if needed, but the cpu doesn't get hot enough to need it. The laptop has gotten much quieter since they updated the firmware, but the cpu fan makes a lot of noise when on full power and that can't be fixed unless they change the fan.
