Hey everyone. I'm going to be purchasing one of these in the next couple of days. Thus I have a few questions.

    1. Will replacing the processor in this to a qx9300 void any warranty, and if it doesn't' will the heat produced be a serious issue?

    2. How substantial an upgrade is a gtx280m from the gtx260m? Is it worth moving up to the np5797? Also Why isn't a gtx280m available in the np8662?

    1. Yes it's upgradable and no it won't void your Sager warranty, maybe your reseller, it's best to ask them.

    2. It's a pretty nice step up, it's not available in the 8662 because of size, and heat.

    1. If a vendor offer the QX9300, you will have warrenty from them and not Clevo. Noone has QX9300 here on the forum so I don`t know about any heat issues.

    2. It`s about 10% I think. If you look in this thread and look at the last 2-3 pages, you will see that H-Emmanuel has a GTX 280M in his M860, and it looks very good regarding heat. He does`nt even have a GTX 280M heatsink yet, only the one from 9800M GT.

Why Clevo does`nt support GTX 280M, in a m860, is due to heat, they said. Looks like it will be ok in a M860. At least I hope so.

If Sager does not offer the QX9300, and they don't at this time, then yes, you will void your Sager warranty if you put one in.

Sager would love to offer the NP8662 with the QX9300, but it is not certified by Clevo to use in this model, so Clevo won't warranty it, nor will Sager.

The same holds true for the GTX 280M in the NP8662.

If you want the QX9300 and the GTX 280M then I would definitely recommend getting the NP5797 instead.
