First of all, how long have you had the battery? Batteries stop working after a while, but with a good care (almost) any laptop battery should last for at least three years though.

If the problem started one day to another, you might as well consider if the battery could've gotten damaged in any way? Did you drop it or the computer, spill anything on it, or do anything else that could've harmed the battery in any way?

Also, do you have any idea what model the battery is? It might be a "popular" problem with that specific model, so you might wanna try to google it.

    Xan.

    Hi,

I bought the laptop with that battery 2 month ago. The problem started one day to another but nothing unusual happened to my laptop (I really take care of my baby ;) )

The battery model number is: M860BAT-8, an 8 cell LI-Ion battery pack. I googled for that number but only got 7 hits (ebay sellers). adding the keyword problem or help or charging gives no results.

Do you left it in the laptop all the time, though you are plugged in?

To be honest, I don't really know much about this topic, but my little brothers old computer battery had the exact same problem: Every time it fell out of the power adapter, the computer died (and the battery wouldn't charge).
He ended up buying an all new computer, since it was really driving him insane (that was a used computer he had bought for 100 bucks though :D). But then again, that was an old computer with an old battery, and this clearly shouldn't be happening to an only 2-month old battery, especially if you didn't drop it or anything. In the worst case, you should also be able to get a new one from the company who sold it to you, since this really shouldn't be happening to a (more or less) brand new battery.

It could also be a problem with your laptops software though. Did you install any new updates, drivers or programs that could've triggered the problem? Especially Windows updates have a habit of messing all kinds of things up, even though that this would be a very rare case; I've never heard about any software making a computer unable to recharge its battery.

    Xan.

yep I always leave it in the laptop and I almost never work in battery mode. Funny thing is that on top of the battery cover sits the fourth foot (ruber bulb) so you need the battery in place to have your laptop right.

I didnt insall any driver updates besides for my grahpics card from laptopvideo2go. I have now the 180.84.1 I think. There is a powermize option but no matter if I disable or enable it, the battery wont load.

Your battery problems started early. Perhaps the battery was of poor quality to begin with?

    Hi,

just wanted to inform you that I got my battery replaced and now it works fine. So deathwinger was right, the battery was probably faulty from the beginning.

    Thanks to all,
