Hello everyone. I would like to consider purchasing a Clevo P150HM (the Sager NP8150) from online. I have seen plenty of places but I don't know much about them. Statistics from Reseller Ratings and the BBB tell me nothing. What I'm basically looking for is a fairly priced and friendly dealer who will make sure I get what I pay for. The places that I am considering currently are XoticPC and AVA Direct. On top of that, I have heard of PowerNotebooks, Digital Storm, GenTechPC, and many other dealers that seem to just overprice things like crazy (Maingear, Falcon NW, etc.) I know the difference between putting the system together and reselling it, but the truth is I really don't care if it says sager on it or not as long as I have my options wide open for making the machine the way I want. Speaking of options, my budget will probably allow me to personalize the system too, so the more physical (parts and appearance) customization options the better. My parents are a bit apprehensive about making online purchases from places they haven't heard of. I live in Massachusetts, USA. Any advice would be great. I plan on purchasing it as close to the latest I need it by but close enough that it doesn't seem like an eternity. Probably as soon as the refresh comes out. Thank you and good night.

PowerNotebooks has been NOTHING but a class act for me when I purchased both of my Sagers (See my SIG). They never tried to upsell me on anything, they told me the pros and cons of the laptops, and two things really stuck out in my mind about them. First, when I bought my NP8130, the i7-2670qm came out the day after I ordered. Donald @ PNB upgraded me to the 2670qm from the 2630qm at no cost. Second, one of my keys (the "L" key) popped out and apparently was found to have been defective from the factory. Speaking to PNB's 24x7 USA-based support crew (as well as Donald) and their ability to get Sager to send out a replacement L-key free of charge reassured me of the continued post-purchase support that is received from PNB. Donald and the crew at PNB are from the old-school; they don't talk fast, they don't try to bait-and-switch, and they want to make sure that what you buy is actually what you need, even if it means an upgraded component that would yield a bigger profit isn't installed.

PNB has been my go-to place for laptops since 2009, and will continue to be due to the service they have provided me through the years.

I have heard that PNB has excellent ratings. That is one of the reasons I have considered them. Any business with a 9.0 or better and an A on the BBB has got to be doing something right, right? Actually, that is why I am asking, because almost ALL of the places have that.

For rock-bottom prices, LPC-digital was best. Their customer support is perfect too.

Try contacting babyhemi for a quote and try asking other resellers to compare if they can even match his quotes... :D

Hmm, just looked at their site. The prices are really good, but not way better than say, XoticPC or Malibal from what I can tell. Is there something I am missing?

Don't buy from their sites, send a PM or contact Larry.

+1 to Larry from lpc-digital, Customer service is top notch and rock bottom prices if you PM/email about your quotations.

they also offer more payment options than others specially if you're ordering from outside the U.S.

    Gamer872,

I don't think they have a rep here, so AVA-Direct flies under most people's radar.

When I purchased the x7200, I had some questions regarding the config on their web site, called them up, and they took care of things right then and there. I give them an A+ recommendation.

So you do like AVA Direct then. Well I suppose it's now down between them, PNB, and XoticPC depending on what they offer at the time.

I'd also talk to Larry (forum member babyhemi) at LPC-Digital.

Take a look at what each has to offer. AVA-Direct will have more options in terms of features HDDs, Memory, CPUs, etc., but if you can decide on common components, you should be able to configure similar systems, and decide on price from there.
