can anyone suggest a good remote control for the clevo m980nu ?

would any windows media center remote work or does it have to be a specific make/model ?

the control would usually be included with the TV Tuner that you purchase (most of which are USB now).

it does not work that way all the time.

sometimes the IR is only enabled and controlled by the TV Tuner.

in the case of the M980NU... you have to get a internal (mini-PCIe) TV Tuner for the infrared receiver to be enabled.

it even was stated exactly like that in the User's Manual.

I can suggest a cheap solution is to get a USB wireless remote... like ones that professors/teachers use to control powerpoint presentations.

some of the good ones actually have media buttons and such.

here are some good examples for under $20:

I have an M570RU and I've used a standard Media Center remote control with no problems. Just point it at the front of the laptop and it worked (I'm running Win7).
