    bios update problems

    Guys trying to update my bios on metabox d870dm laptop. i have got the hp utility and copied the bios files over to usb. however when i go into bios and change the boot ordr to usb first it restarts and always boots to windows. Any suggestions? Thanks

    you need to disable UEFI boot first before it'll work, then after flashing the BIOS, reenable UEFI

    Note: After the BIOS has been flashed and the system shuts down automatically, disconnect the power cable for 30 seconds then reconnect it before powering it on. Do not panic, the first power on takes about 30 secs before you see anything on the screen.

    Yep, switch the UEFI boot to legacy

    thank mate tried that and it says the file is bigger than the flash area, and the cpu does have permission to acess the required file? its a clevo bios i am trying to flash to my metabox laptop but its the same model

    Whatever that is, don't flash that or it'll be the last flash...lucky you forgot a step otherwise the show would be over by now.

    Those sort of warnings are always a good sign you need to check the file or method you are using ;)
