So i purchased what seemed to be the cool jabra BT3030 thinking i would be able to wirelessly hook up my surround sound speakers to me m860tu, but despite a ton of efforts...i can't really get any functionality out of it. This seems due to vista's lack of A2DP or whatever support for bluetooth. anyone have any experience with stereo bluetooth stuff and vista?

sorry man, I don't have an answer for you but had to tell you I cracked up browsing through topics and came past yours.
maybe this though: djkaty.xxx/vista/bluetootha2dp (it won't let me post URLs yet so replace xxx with com) -

I don't really understand the issue...maybe this could help: http://www.djkaty.com/vista/bluetootha2dp

yeah that was a website i came across in my searches...unfortunately the update is not working for me and says no bluetooth device was detected... (yes it's enabled, and it was able to semi-pair with the BT3030 - sees it but lacks functionality) but yeah ideally that stack sounds like what i need, anyone else perhaps with the np8660 have any idears?

This is probably a dumb question, but did you install the bluetooth drivers?
-
I though there was no drivers for bluetooth. Or at least, there is no software to manage the bluetooth.
-
Don't know if there are drivers or firmware specific to the BT-3030; however, at least as of last year, _Vista did not come with A2DP enabled by default. If that's the problem, then this webpage: http://www.djkaty.com/vista/bluetootha2dp
may provide you with a way to enable A2DP in _Vista. No guarantees on results, though, since I didn't write it, don't have bluetooth anything (unless my dentist says otherwise), and didn't research the page for accuracy.

Yes. Vista does not come with A2DP enabled. That is the problem. There are no bluetooth drivers (aka stack) specifically for the BT3030 or my bluetooth hardware. And you're also the 3rd person to link that site, no it doesn't work because the M860TU does not come with a broadcom manufactured bluetooth module. Any other ideas?

That, or get a USB Bluetooth adapter that supports _Vista and A2DP, such as the Zoom 4321f, which supports both, as indicated on its support webpage - wasn't too hard to google.... -
i did a thorough googling which is why i asked here, getting an external bluetooth dongle eliminates half the point for me but thanks for the input

it wasn't that, it was the fact that people weren't reading previous posts and kept linking the same thing, it was just a lrn2read

that people don't read? lol

have you tried this website?
http://www.djkaty.com/vista/bluetootha2dp -
yerp the np8660's BT adapter is not detected with it, even tried removing it first as suggested on the website, to no avail.

paid the $25 for the bluesoleil stuff and it works like a charm.
