Reverse engineer the Asus twin turbo app but it still requires BIOS support.

i'm not aware that any of the i7s can be OCed with this model....i thought it was just the asus g73 that could via the bios.....but wait for mandrake or soviet sunrise, they will def know.

the x8100 can be clocked up if it has the right bios and a 920 in it but the g73 has alot more options in it then the clevo

Due to "The Moo™" creating this thread, I don't think it's possible.

so far, all i've seen are Asus owners doing it....but on the flip side, i hear the clevos can OC the GPU a good clip. Wait for Soviet or Mandrake.

The M17xR2, Asus G73 and Clevo x8100 are the three main i7 systems that can OC in the bios. The Asus is the only one that doesn't need an extreme proc to OC, it will give you a 7% increase in your cpu bclk frequency regardless of processor.

They all should be able to adjust the turbo boost multiplier via the evga eleet program assuming you have an extreme processor. As soon as you start talking multipliers it has to be an extreme.

    Clevo+i7-820QM = no CPU over-clocking

He would be able to adjust turbo boost multipliers. Not by much but it would be possible.

Out of my own curiosity since, i also bought the same proc, about how big would the gains be? 10% 25%?

It would depend on the power and cooling constraints of the system. I would need to have one to test to give you a number.
