So, I waited patiently for my laptop from xoticpc for more than a month so i could get the sweet 6970m vid card. popped in a brand new Crucial M4 ssd, installed windows, did all the updates, downloaded latest video card driver. rebooted.
glorious 1920x1080p windows, everything working smoothly. decided to run windows assessment just to make sure things were working alright. screen goes this off blue (not a BSOD, no error message). after waiting for 10min i turn off machine.
won't boot. led's go on, fan's go on, black screen. no post, nothing.
tried taking out the battery.
at this point it may be anything but i do believe it's the video card since it crashed during the video card tests.
any ideas???
thanks!

I do computer repair for a living and completely agree with JosephThaiNguyen. It could be your video card, but sounds like it could equally be your RAM. Be careful that you aren't carrying a static charge, and remove/reseat the RAM modules ensuring they are fully inserted. I think it's less likely it's the SSD, but if the RAM isn't the problem, go ahead and try unplugging the SSD anyway. You should at least get a BIOS error that it couldn't find a bootable drive.

ok thanks guys, ill try to reseat the ram

Update us please on this situation !

It was late last night for me so I didn't post a in depth how to access the ram under the keyboard. Also You can try re-seating one ram slot at a time and see if it boots. You could had one bad ram module. Here is some instruction if you need them.
To reseat the Ram first you have disconnect your battery and unplugged the laptop. The default location for RAM when you purchase a sager is under your keyboard. To remove the keyboard pop the speaker grill off. I used a small flat head screwdriver on the upper top right corner near the hard drive light indicator. I actually don't put it exactly on the corner but more on top left near it. Using a flat head screwdriver will leave a plastic indentation if you do not do it properly. Once you pop the speaker grill off remove the screws that hold the keyboard. Once you located the ram, open the 2 clip the sometime moving outwards this should pop the ram out. After you remove the ram reseat those by placing it in a slight angle and pushing it down in align with the contacts. Make sure they are securely in or your computer will not boot. -
Thanks for the awesomely detailed instructions!
I will try to reseat ram later today. Pretty annoying that its under keyboard but oh well.
On an unrelated note, not overally impressed with the saver build quality. Screen great but besides that nothing to write home about. I come from a lot of Mac and Dell laptops so maybe just used to different styles. Not savers fault but I HATE the number pad. Give me a full keyboard! -
I can agree with the Clevo / Sager keyboard are kinda poor compared to past notebooks used, but since i bought it for portable gaming it gets the job done.
Also Multicom, the Clevo reseller in Norway use the higher end screens by default so i got no problems with that.
Wish you good luck with bringing back the notebook from the bsod nightmare. -

that really sucks....
-
so what are you doing to do with your SSD?
-
ya really sucks. waited more than a month for this system. =(
sigh, don't know about the ssd either. may return it as well since who knows what will come out by the time i get a new system. -
Shizz... I'm having mine coming in on Monday...
-
i have quick question
if i choose 4gb ram can i just buy more later and stick it in ? also HDD same question can i slot another HDD in later ?
This would save me a bunch of money. -

The problem is more likely to be with your SSD than anything else. I would only suggest to go with Intel SSD, period. Crucial, OCZ, Corsair or Kingston SSD are hit and miss (mostly miss). If they aren't DOA, they will be dead within six months... Just check Newegg review and their forum. -
Yep tried with and without ssd

I am thinking of replacing the Seagate HDD with a bigger WD drive and use the hybrid one as the main disk on the older eMachines with Arrendale i3.
Its kinda the family notebook and would probably benefit from the upgrade more than my current setup.
brand new P150 + 6970m WON'T BOOT
