They are made of very durable plastic. The laptop shell is made of brushed aluminum. In all reviews I've read it CLEARLY states there is NOOOOOO flex at all on the screen. The hinges I believe are also plastic. When lookin for a computer with top notch build quality Sager's are always mentioned :) I think build quality should be the least of your worries with the 5793.
    Leave me some rep :)

Ive just got one on my hands my self, and it is has a very nice feel, dosent feel cheap and fragile, more robust and durable feel than most notebooks ive seen around :) Trying to lift it from the table in one corner gives almost no flex, and resting hands on the palmrest, dosent make the casing react at all.

I got mine about 3 weeks ago and I must say that it is PERFECT. The build quality feels so durable I could drop (of course I wouldnt recommend it ;) several times and it would function perfectly. There is no flex in any area, and ever piece feels stable. Overall best computer I have ever owned or seen (not to mention powerful :)

It's mostly solid plastic with the lid a solid sheet of alumium.
