    simply replace thermal paste.

    Hello folks:

    I have a clevo x7200 with i7 950 and single GTX 485M.
I updated my bios to the newest from any version I can't remember (I guess it should be some kind of version came out in around april 2011).

After I updated the bios, my CPU's temperture goes up a lot when I am doing nothing (from 30+ to 55~60 derees celsius). Althought it just increases a little bit when it's fully loaded.

I also oc my GPU (GTX 485M) to 750MHz 1660 MHz. BUT it does not affect my CPU's temperture. I oc it a couple days and all the tempertures unchanged before updating the bios .

Did you use the latest BIOS version from Clevo?

When did you purchase your x7200?

I did use the latest BIOS version. It's 1.00.12 with 1.00.07 firmware.

If it's not going up when you game, Nvidia's power saving feature is probably enabled. Make sure it is set to Maximum Performance (while plugged in) in the driver settings.

I think he was referring to your Windows Settings. If you click on the battery icon on your taskbar > more power options > show additional plans > high performance

I don't think it was about power setting... should be something in Nvidia control panel...

    thank you very much anyway.

Did you try under the 3D settings category > adjust image settings with preview > use my preference emphasizing > then sliding it down to maximum performance?

That's the option I think you wanted in Nvidia settings.

Ok, well, next you want to make sure v-sync (locks it at 60FPS) is disabled in your games and in the nvidia control panel. Beyond that... What are you using to overclock? Also, use GPU-Z to see your actual clocks if you aren't already.
