    can the D900C support the older P4 prescot chip?

    since they are the same socket?

    i also want to ask if the standard tv tuner and the internal wirless card from the older D900T will work with the D900C (swapable)

    no. The Intel 965 chipset supports Pentium D's to Core 2 Duo's/Extreme/Quad

    As for the TV tuner, it might still work since its mini-PCI.... but the wifi-card will not fit.

    Why would you want to do that? And the Desktop Intel 965 chipset DOES support Pentium 4's. I don't know if the clevo does though.

    well my current D900t is on it's deathbead and i am weighing what my economical options would be. just thought i could get a barebones D900c and swap as many parts into it as possible as i currently do not need the power of one. i can always upgrade parts in the future.

    you can sell off the barebones of that notebook to get some cash for the next notebook.

    I know my friend has a D900T thats dying, due to his ineptitude for taking care of his notebook by cleaning out fans and vents... leaving his system permanently damaged due to overheats.

    He might need a new videocard (6800 Go), since his cant game for more than 5 min... then it shuts the system down.
