since they are the same socket?
i also want to ask if the standard tv tuner and the internal wirless card from the older D900T will work with the D900C (swapable)
-
no. The Intel 965 chipset supports Pentium D's to Core 2 Duo's/Extreme/Quad
As for the TV tuner, it might still work since its mini-PCI.... but the wifi-card will not fit. -
Why would you want to do that? And the Desktop Intel 965 chipset DOES support Pentium 4's. I don't know if the clevo does though.
-
well my current D900t is on it's deathbead and i am weighing what my economical options would be. just thought i could get a barebones D900c and swap as many parts into it as possible as i currently do not need the power of one. i can always upgrade parts in the future.

you can sell off the barebones of that notebook to get some cash for the next notebook.
I know my friend has a D900T thats dying, due to his ineptitude for taking care of his notebook by cleaning out fans and vents... leaving his system permanently damaged due to overheats.
He might need a new videocard (6800 Go), since his cant game for more than 5 min... then it shuts the system down.
can the D900C support the older P4 prescot chip?
