i'm trying to do a benchmark of my pc (NP9150 with 7970m) and that involve trying a few drivers out. i've read that the 13.1 was pretty good but i can't seem to install it.
i've made a clean install of my old driver (14.6) with AMD cleanup utility and downloaded and installed 113.1. the installation finished pretty quickly and no "restart now" window came up so restarted manually. nothing happend. i literally have no drivers on my laptop, not even the intel ones. if anyone can help me install this specific driver, or recommend on a different one, i'll be very happy! :)
    i have windows 8.1 BTW

Download whatever driver you need for each graphics chip, then remove the currently installed ones (both Intel and the AMD graphics driver).

Use Revo Uninstaller for the AMD driver (try the "Advanced" removal method), or use this guide to fully remove the AMD driver and all affiliated data: How To: Remove Your AMD / ATi GPU Drivers

You should have received a drivers disc with the laptop. You can use that to install both the Intel HD graphics driver and the AMD driver, then update the drivers from those versions.

13.1 is still floating around out there. :) It's compatible with Windows 8, but you'll have to test it on 8.1 to know for sure whether it works or not.

As for the Intel graphics driver, you don't necessarily need to update that beyond what your reseller provided on the DVD, but you can get the latest driver from Intel's support site. You can filter the results to make finding the driver easier.

If you can't get 13.1 to work and you want to just compare driver performance look for 13.4 that got really good feedback.

You don't need to go that far back. You can roll back by one driver version at a time from the latest available.

Remember that sometimes residual data is left after removing a driver, so you might need to do a more thorough removal when rolling back to an older driver.

well i've re installed windows, nothing. still same performance.i'm beginning to think that that's just how things work :(
i can't download any good driver because non support windows 8.1 and i've got no updated benchmarks to go with... all i know is that i'm getting what seems to be low FPS on BL2 and on darksiders 2. BF3 works great and BF4 is driver dependent.

ok so a quick update: it turns out there's a pretty big FPS upgrade, around 10 FPS! i stopped the download that was running in the background, went to CCC and checked "maximize performance" instead of "optimize performance" and deleted the .ini files. i don't know which one of those things helped, but 'm getting above 55 FPS avarage so that's not too bad. i'm still going to try and up my frames to a better number. BTW, i'm not so sure as for what driver i'm using... it doesn't say. all i see is this: driver packaging version: 3.251.9001-140423a-171190E-ATI
one more thing: i still can't see my temps, even after a complete windows re install. it's wither non existent on some programs (like CPU-z or HWMonitor) or set to 0c (like msi afterbruner).
    thanks!

I would hasten to say some software bugs exist on your system conflicting with Windows.
You will need to do some uninstalling of software until you find the culprit.

    Good luck :)
