    cant adjust screen brightness anymore

    the fn+f7/f8 keys no longer adjust the brightness, and the slider in the control panel/power options moves with no change in br.... any clue as to whats going on?

    i didnt mess with hotkey or anything

    can you do it when its in the BIOS?

    if not, it could be the keyboard or its firmware.

    or the backlight of the LCD has gone faulty.

    dims fine in bios and when battery is low (7% i think it is)

    but thats it

    turn off the notebook.

    disconnect your keyboard, and plug it back in securely

    I heard it might be related to the 195.55 nvidia drivers. the 195.62 (the latest) supposedly fix this issue.

    I had a similar problem, it was a driver issue.

    This is why I stick with WHQL drivers only.

    yep, driver. went from 195.39 to 55 and its fixed now.

    195.62 from laptopvideo2go for x64 is corrupted

    Its the Nvidia drivers from laptopvideo2go.

    Go to the latest official drivers, works very well and your battery life won't burn out due to a fully lit screen.
