i got a free black bag when i bought the laptop. i plan to take it to school. does it matter how you place the laptop in a bag? its one of those that you carry on one shoulder. should i place the laptop with hinges facing bottom or top? which is safer and does not damage the laptop

It doesn't really make a big difference either way. I carry my P150HM in a nylon laptop sleeve and vertically in my backpack. As long as your bag is padded and you're gentle with it, the direction really doesn't matter at all. You may want to keep a cloth on the keyboard between the screen and keyboard if you bump it around much.

The black bag you get with the laptop doesn't have much padding.

I would recommend investing in a backpack with good padding, especially considering you are taking it to school. With black Friday sales you would be able to grab a good bargain.
