sager 170sm-a. Windows 10 and linux mint.

Letter keys wont work. Enter and arrow keys seem to work fine. Problem seems to affect usb keyboard as well. And also occurs through linux and win 10.

the onscreen keyboard won't work unless I hold down the left control button on the main keyboard. I replaced the keyboard yet I'm still having problems where the key won't register unless I hit it square in the middle.

I believe there's a keyboard controller on the main board. That could be your issue (the board may need replaced unless that controller can be).
