Hi guys I have a Metabox P870DM laptop with 980m sli, I had a problem with one of the cards running 10. deg c hotter than the other one, I have ordered new thermal paste etc to try that as when I checked the paste looked rubbish.
The other problem I have is I removed one of the cards to test, the single 980m I have only runs at 850mx core for some reason. I have latest NVidia drivers etc tried everything inc. Inspector the core wont go above 850, any suggestions?
I was thinking of selling the 2 980m and installing a 980 xx any one see a befifit in this , I will be using the laptop for VR with vive once avalible but I am conserend the sli will cause more problems . thanks
Is there an unlocked bios I can load on to the laptop as bios settings seem locked , I have the skylake 6700k but if I overclock it crashes or throttles.

Please check this thread for how to undervolt to get around the high CPU temp issues and to run all cores @ 4.2 GHz

I had enough with SLI and its headaches and micro stuttering so I sold my P870DM-G which had SLI and got a Eurocom Sky X9 with a desktop 980GTX, much happier, less headaches

Regarding the BIOS, the Prema unlocked BIOS is not out for the public, it is only for partner shops like if you bought your laptop from HIDevolution, Eurocom, Mythlogic, etc

These are the Prema Partner shops:

Check the bottom cover, make sure the GPU fan isn't covered by that aluminum part. Lots of people have opted to cut that out to increase air flow

Thanks I ripped it off today. I have been looking for an unlocked bios for laptop but haven't had any luck. hopefully the new thermal paste will help with temp as well.
