As always something is wrong, my sound is gone completely. It's not even being recognized in device manager, no detection at all.
Before this, it made a hellalota sound, hissing like mad, so I powered down, booted up again, and bang, no sound recognition, it's like the speakers have gone. (nothing was spilled on them or damaged in any way) has anybody had this problem, and is it easy to replace the sound card on 870? I presume not. Or any suggestions would be appreciated.
    Thank you

Other than the new drivers, you can also try a clean Windows install as well as a last resort. There isn't any way to replace the sound card though, as it's integrated into your motherboard.

yeah, as for cleaning it, i was hoping for it to be last resort/
I reinstall the drivers, and it detects them, says they are installed, but it doesn't even list the Sound in device manager. And I get a cross next to the little speaker in notification. when I click on it launches troubleshooter, detecting problems and all that. And HARDWARE CHANGES MIGHT NOT HAVE BEEN DETECTED and DETECTED
Mad. Also the mic doesn't work
