I've decided to install vista 64-bit business edition onto my M860ETU because Windows 7 is giving me issues whilst playing warcraft.
Maybe that is a bit of overkill, but I'm not sure why my network connection keeps dying. Windows 7 will expire eventually anyway.

Anyway, I am trying to make sure of something. What is this intel matrix storage manager and do I need it?

I notice my windows experience rating went from 6 (in windows 7) down to 5.3 (now in vista), so this fact bothers me..I am wondering if it has anything to do with the driver I just mentioned?

Bootup and shutdown times are also longer compared to windows 7, such a disappointment :\

WEI is inaccurate so don't bother with it. WEI in Seven scales up to a max of 7.9. WEI in Vista scales up to a max of 5.9. I think you can figure it out from here.

Intel Matrix Storage Manager includes the latest drivers for your chipset's SATA controller. It is very important that you install it for reasons other M860TU owners will tell you.

Also, were you using Seven RC build 7100?
