    Greetings.
I sold my old 7970m, which i tested, to a guy wanting do repair a p370. He said the card was not working so i told him that he needed a vbios to make it work on a non-enduro system (the p370 is a dual card). A week latter he ships the card back and says it gets BSOD and freezes. I swap my 8970m and yeah it did not work. I though that maybe he did not flashed my old bios back so i tried looking for another one and then i'm met with these results on atiflash (the first error is because I misspelled the vbios name).

Is the card dead? if so how he killed the card? A bad flash? Is there a way to recover it or to the trash it goes ?

I tried reinstalling Windows and that black screen is what I get after the AMD drivers are installed.

You may want a programmer on it, it is picking up something though.

Looks like the guy might have totally corrupted it.

A clip on programmer on the vbios chip.

Hello i would like to put some more info I've gathered on the matter. I switched back to my 8970m and just for curiosity i ran atiflash -ai and i got the exact info:
    Pitcairn (slave
    Unknown SPI (64kb)
    no VBIOS
This is the same results on the 7970m card
Can this be related by any chance to me using premaMOD bios on the notebook? I did not run any other commands cause i did not wanted to mess up with a working card, but the -s command was not working, i just got a ROM file with 0 size. Maybe i should have tried a -unlock?

Ah I think it just was locked on that system. Has to be done through winflash? Ita been so long since I was using that system.

Iirc you had to run pcie.exe on these models before atiflash would work:
    PCIE.7z

Extract and drop a copy of the file on the stick and run 'pcie.exe' without any switches/commands. There'll be no response, but you ought to be able to run atiflash as normal right after that.

It worked! Thank for yo magic Mr.magician. I'm gonna try to put back my old 7970m again and see if the vga is ok or not. But i was able to run -ai and -s on my 8970m, so i would say that PCIe.exe totally worked.
