    not true.

the D900K is using standard SATA-I compatible HDDs.

I can even go up as high as dual 500GB if I wanted... which might not be a bad idea. :)

The HDDs to get for full SATA-I and SATA-II compatibility are:
    - Seagate Momentus (has a jumper to set to SATA-I mode)
    - Hitachi Travelstar (has a utility to switch to SATA-I mode)

well that might have been true when the D900K was released back in late 2005... when HDD's only went up to 100GB.

but as technology progresses and older models' info is not updated... one, like yourself, would believe that its a fact ("written in stone") when it really isn't.

with a little research (and maybe some testing), you would have known that 100GB cannot be the limit for a system that is using SATA and a desktop chipset.

as gophn has a d900k, and has tested it, I'd say those places were wrong.
