    Hi,

    I am really interested in a Clevo/Sager NP9150.

Are there any resellers in NZ or would I have to ship one from the U.S?

Does anyone know much about the international warranties on these notebooks? I am under the impression if there is a issue I would have to pay shipping back to the U.S just to get looked at. Would this still apply if there was a hardware fault on the first day of use?

Also, are the power-supplies generic or specific to the laptop? Voltage would be fine, but I would need a plug adapter. However this would be inconvenient and it would be preferable to have local power adapter.

    Thanks :D

The AC adapter uses a standard computer plug - so if you had an extra one around from a desktop, that would fit into your wall and also into the (standard 3 prong) end at the AC adapter.

I bought from a vendor in the US and moved to NZ...and have discovered that they won't even ship to NZ under warranty - I'd have to have it shipped somewhere and then redirected to NZ. The warranties on these laptops are through your specific reseller - you can't buy from the cheapest and then take it to the most convenient/closest for warranty service.

I'd agree with black-bean, consider the guys at those 2 resellers in Australia. They both participate in another set of forums similar to these...I'll post a link if it's allowed?

    Cheers.

I contacted some US and Australian resellers. It appears the customer has to pay for shipping back to the reseller (for both Aus and US), which would be quite expensive and has no guarantee the fault would be necessarily covered.

Shipping from Australia was quoted to actually be reasonably similar as from the US, so it looks Australia would not be worth while.
($110 USD compared with $159 USD)

I might have to look at another brand. Don't want to spend $2000 USD after shipping and customs, and then have problems with a warranty if something is faulty.

As far as I am aware even if there is a fault on the first day, I would still have to pay to send the laptop back :( ...

Don't forget about time - not just money. I shipped some boxes here in the post when I moved....2 months ago. Tracking still don't show them as having hit customs. Make sure you're comparing air freight - there is no other reasonable way to ship stuff from North America to NZ.
