    I own a M570TU ibuypower branded laptop and through various reasons i had to go and replace my keyboard.

    It's stock MP-03753US-4305L for 17'' display's.
    I just found that serial, but I've bought and received a Clevo 'D27' keyboard replacement...

    here's the question... when i plug in the new keyboard the keys are all wonky... e=r .. r=e .. win=3 ... and a bunch of other keys are outputting wrong...
    I read somewhere that Clevo has been using the same keyboard for all its 17'' laptops

    can't find the serial on the back of the new keyboard so I'm assuming it's a defunct knockoff and should be yelling at the shop (ebay shop) [prolly first mistake right?]

    or am I a moron and did I just buy a completely different keyboard replacement?

    [edit: lol auto swear filtering... neat... also has anybody found a hotkey version that works for win7?]

    You can try remapping the keyboard as a temporary measure.

    Ok so I used Sharpkeys to remap the keys to the registry.
    here's a list.

    e=r
    r=e
    y=d
    d=y
    h=k
    k=m
    c=b
    b=c
    m=h
    win= num 3

    now only problem is i have to make a choice. for some reason the win key is mapped to the num3 so i either keep my number pad pop the start menu every time i do calculations or i have the win key hit 3.....

    that means it's a bad keyboard right? two keys hard mapped to the same thing?

    Did they list the model number as MP-03753US-4305L?

    How do you remap keys? is there some kind of BIOS utility?

    There are various keyboards that clevo have used, sounds like you bought the wrong one unfortunately.

    keyboard thread which led me to believe they are the same.
    http://forum.notebookreview.com/sager-clevo/377335-keyboards-5797-d901c-same.html

    and

    ebay page of what i bought.
    Brand New OEM Clevo D27 Series Keyboard US Standard - eBay (item 350404277704 end time Dec-13-10 23:02:45 PST)

    You are probably right theriko... but I'd like to be sure...
    the replacement 'fits' alright in my laptop...
    And it doesn't seem profitable to be changing the keyboard array for every new model they put out... right?

    Anybody know where i can find an equipment listing of the models they use per laptop model...

    Thats pretty much what that thread was about.

    You should just return the keyboard to them.

    The keyboard for the 579x and 926x were the same (M570RU/TU/D901C) but not all of their keyboards of the same size/style are the same, there have been revisions (probably for things like anti-ghosting and such) so you have to know if a different model is compatible before you buy it - which is difficult.

    Ohhhh.. that makes sense.

    So ... one more question, I'm trying to abide by newbie forum etiquette and not post multiple threads hope this doubles as a bump.

    New question... is their a clevo spare parts store that is hidden from the tentacles of google, yahoo, bing etc.

    I mean MP-03753US-4305L appears to be the only keyboard model out there that is collective 'out of stock' on the e-stores that i know of. (mostly from what i googled or ebayed...I don't actively um peruse spare parts)

    the only thing i can possibly find is a 70$ ebay item... c'mon thats double everything else!

    Would it be possible to download a driver for the keyboard?
