If all goes right I shoulh have my lappy with the 8800M gtx tomorrow. I'm not going to write a review because I type 20-30 WPM and I just let others that are much better suited handled that. What I plan on doing is posting pics and benches (3dmark06, pcmark) and the obsolete windows experience score. I ordered w/o an OS but i "received" one through the net, so I will be using 32 bit for now. If you guys want me to test anything or different drivers with different games, just let me know. I guess I will be spending my day on my new notebook and I will checking back here often to see y'all's (yeah im from Texas) suggestions. :)

Actually the 5792 is the M571RU.
One thing it amazed me about Eurocom was their great pricing for the base model. The upgrades are killers, but the basic price is great.

I was under the impression that M570RU was the same as the M571RU, except that 570 was black with orange, and 571 was black with silver.

Could you post Crysis benchmarks, using Nvidia's latest drivers? Try doing high and very high on different resolutions and see what you get.

It would be nice to see Crysis benchmarks using the patch, 169 drivers, and high and very high settings (via CFG tweak) in XP.

Allright I will post some pics ( who should I use for a upload host), I have never posted pics before, and how do I get a screen shot from game?

Anway just to let you guys know before I post pics, etc. In Crysis > 12800x800 all options HIGH, dx10 i get 20+ fps, in dx9 i get 27+ fps.

COD4 1440x900 everything maxed, all options on, vsync on 4x AA, 16xAF, never drops below 61 fps.

DiRt 1440x900, no vsync, ULTRA options never drops below 25 fps (man that game looks nice compared to gran turismo 4 which I'm used to playing).

ANyway as soon as I can figure out this pic upload crap I will post.

    :)

    also my 3dmark06 results were;

    1st test was 9106 @ 12800x800
2nd test was 8430 @12800x800 , but I noticed sometype of throttling which I am in the process of fixing with RMclock.

also the GPU will downclock itself while not using intense 3d, ntune nvidia monitor shows with regular internet browsing clocks: 200/100, and intense gaming at 500/799.

Which keeps the gpu temps @ 37-40C
intense gaming nvidia eventlog showed 60C during 1440x900 all high dx10 Crysis. Which is pretty cool for that game.

    for upload screenshots:

    - press PRINT SCREEN to copy what ever in on the screen to the clipboard.
    - PASTE the image into a photo program (or MS Paint if you want)
    - SAVE the image as a JPG/JPEG (which is the best format for size, quality, compatibility)
    - use a site like www.imageshack.us or www.photobucket.com to upload the pictures to.

Then you can use the links from those image hosting sites and link it to your thread. (use the Insert Image button and paste the link)

One more thing, running Crysis in DX9 mode shows a good increase in framerates, as the only setting that actually uses DX10 effects is Very High, otherwise you're just rendering the game in DX10 mode (which is slower than DX9), without any of DX10's effects.

hey naticus if you get a chance can you test out the 169.28 drivers? I just need a conformation that the 167.43 drivers are the best as of right now. It does seem there is a update comeing in the next few days. I didn't test the drivers that came with my laptop and downloaded the 169.28 drivers from laptopvideo2go and I can't get a score past 6k. btw while I am glad I bought this model, the np5792 silver from Eurocom was my previous choice and the silver model looks excellent.

yeah I will give it a go tomorrow. I dont think though that the drivers from laptopvideo2go are really optimized for the 8800m (even though the modded inf allows them to be used). I think our best bet is to wait for official beta releases or the like, also try www.tweakforce.com , as there drivers have always given me the best 3dmark scores.

I did some digging around and theres a update on laptopvideo2go saying the 167.43 are specifically meant to be used for the 8800m models. Is that what you have installed?

:D I'd like to think so, I'll drop a nice penryn processor in when they pop up on newegg and it will be all I need. Need to find the xp drivers, so I can run xp on the system, because I'm sure that will make it run even better.

I think with c2d and an 8800m gts (with the m$ updates od course) vista should be just as fast as XP. I mean xp may be a little faster, but too me its not worth the trade-off for aero and the ease, ipv6, so that my games run 1-8% faster. But your reseller should have the xp drivers. YOu should get vista x64 though, i regret now not loading that! :)

Have you talked to your reseller about buying the CPU from them? I don't think it voids the warranty to do the upgrade yourself, but I could be WAY off.

Sager drivers can be downloaded from Sager's website @ sagernotebook.com, both for XP and Vista.
