I've decided that a sager np 8662 would be the best choice for me but i have a few questions.

How hot do most 8662s get b/c i heard about some of the heat problems. This is a dumb question but I wasnt planning on buying a operating system with it so how does it come when it's shipped? Like when I turn it on will nothing happen because windows is not installed? One last question will 4 gigs of RAM have a huge difference against 2 gigs? I plan on buying 4 but i just wanted to know anyway.

yes 4 gigs will have a pronounced difference over 2 gigs...unless you plan to just surf the web.

Definitely get the 4gigs of ram. You will have a better performance in games and overall everything else. However, the HDD does get pretty hot. When i first got my 8662 the HDD started to idle at 55-58 but now after updating the drivers it decreased to 50-52. its not that bad. Plus you can always get a notebook cooler to cool it down 5 degrees or so. But I would definitely recommend you get this notebook. It is just amazing.

I'm guessing TamerK went to Sager's website for the driver updates after installing Win7 (which, btw, good choice). I'd recommend you do the same. Honestly, I still have a hot running HDD even after downloading the latest updates, but with a Zalman cooler, it's been kept to around 50*C more often than not.

A question related to the hdd heat issues:

Is it only sata drives that run hot or do ssd also run warm? Curious since I'm deciding between the two right now before I place my order

SSD's will generally run around the same temperature as HDD's. The conception here is that SDD's have greater heat tolerance compared to HDD's.
