The top surface of my 5760 does not get that hot, but only warm. The underside where the vid card and cpu isnt that hot either. But the from edge is really hot. Just under where the clock thing is. That whole strip is very very hot. Games seem to crash after hours of play, but the video card isnt that hot! Whats wrong?

I would contact your Dealer or Sager on this one. That is very strange since the BT, Wireless & TV Tuner are located underneath near the clock.....

Bluetooth should not cause any kind of overheating, especially to the point of shutting down the system. I would deffinately contact Sager/your dealer and look further into this issue......

Well, its so odd, bc i contacted my dealer whom contacted sager whom contacted me. :) within 1 hour, wow amazing service. So the guy didnt really know how to fix it either, he just told me to turn off bluetooth and see if that happens again. And then he was like turn on bluetooth and use external screen for like 5 hours while gaming and see if it still crashes, if it does then its your video card. I am like wait that doesnt make much sense. But w/e i tried to follow what he was saying. But when i got home to perform these "tests" I couldnt repeat the crash again. So annoyed. But i took the back cover off (unscrewed it). And then ran the laptop for a long time (2 hours) and then physically took the cover off and felt which components were hot. So lets see, the bluetooth was warm, the tv tuner was so hot even though i wasnt even using it. WTF? Intel wireless card was warm, but wireless wasnt on. And the oddest thing of all bluetooth dongle wasnt even that hot. WTF, so confused. Well sager is sending me another bluetooth to test out.

Alright heres another thing i noticed, with the cover on, i didnt know where the actually bluetooth dongle was, but i definitly noticed that the overall bottom was much hotter with bluetooth on. (to the point of crashing, but i dont know if its the game issue or the hardware). Now again like i said b4, after i opened the cover it turns out that the bluetooth dongle wasnt even that hot.

You just said the TV tuner was really hot? Even if not using it, it must get some power. Could it heat the couple cards on the sides? Is the TV tuner working? If you don't play and put TV on for a couple hour (try recording a show), does it become hot?

That's odd. My Bluetooth module is the same I believe, and I don't have any heat issues - I haven't noticed any more heat since I installed it. I think the TV Tuner is your problem . . I'd suggest taking that out and see if it produces any more heat. I remember having a TV tuner in the HP dv8000t (ExpressCard), and it got very, very hot. Looks like it is a characteristic of TV tuners.

um good call Chaz, i think I must have been mistaken, it might be the TV tuner after all. Though I am not positive yet. I tried to take the tuner out, but there were two clips holding it down, and they were a pain to undo, i didnt want to screw anything else up in the prosess, so I decided not to take it out, plus there was i guess a grounding line that connected it, and there was a clear plastic tape looking thing that covered where the wire connected to the card, and the other end of the wire was not readily visible. In light of all this, I figured it would be the same if i just went into my computer properties and disabled the hardware software wise. After i disabled it, i used the laptop with bluetooth for about an hour, then i had to leave, so i didnt get to do any intense game testing and such. But from that hour, the bottom edge was significantly cooler. So iam gonna suspect either the TV card is faulty in which case needs to be replaced or that, thats the way it was designed to run. Either way, sager has already sent out the replacement bluetooth card, so i mind as well test that later, but i highly doubt its bluetooth anymore.

Now i know there seems to be many contradicting posts, i said that the bottom ran much cooler with bluetooth off. now i ponder whether bluetooth is somehow linked to the tv card? causing that to occur. Also the problem is with the fact that if the tv card is designed to run that hot, its not suppose to crash my computer.

But again the annoying thing is that i cant seem to reproduce that crash. Its so hard to run the laptop and game on it for 5 or so without having to be at a lan party!!!

Now another question, why is the world would hardware run and consume power while its off? Let me clarafy. While wireless internet is off, and iam using a wired lan cable, the intel wireless card is still getting warm and to temperatures as if it was on. Same with TV card, oh btw i did check background programs and there were none running for either card.

It could be - that's not really something you can find out for sure unless you take one of them out, or ask Sager.

I doubt it is the bluetooth.
